AMAZINGSTEAK This must be one one of the best places for steak in London. Great service, great concept, great food.

After several tours around the area, we spotted this restaurant close by the National Gallery. We smelled a delicious steak serves on a hot stone. We ordered the same, and we were not disappointed. The steak was served raw and you can cook the way you wanted it. The waiter reminded us not to overcook it. It was perfectly cooked and was tasty. The steak was served with salad and French fries. We also ordered salmon salad. Though it tasted a little salty, still a good meal. We were seated outside as the weather was perfect. The waiter was friendly and prices are reasonable.

Spacious sitting room, quick service. They have lunch and theater specials for £8. I ordered the salmon and asparagus salad and it was good size.

It was a horrible evening. First of all — it was loud! Even though we asked kindly to reduce the loudness of the music nothing happened. Than there are rows of tables placed so unlucky that the service always hit me on my back. They serve the steak on a hot stone. The advise of the service to put some butter should prove to be as devastating! The fat injected, a lot of smoke and you smelled like you stayed the whole evening in the kitchen! The steak was grow through and tasteless! No, that was one of our worst restaurant visits ever!

The place is very well located. I went there on a Sunday and they had a sunday special menu with a special plate with steak. The steaks were the smallest order I ever had in a meal in my entire life, plus, the idea of the hot iron is not good, women in general get very mad about the smell going into their clothes. SODONTGETTHISSPECIALONSUNDAY, the steak one. BUT, all other steaks on the menu looked very very good, I would go back because the place is great, the service is great and the menu also, but I would definitely order something else.

Casual and friendly place for steaks — we left feeling full and happy. The steaks were generally good — we ordered a rump and a ribeye, and both were very tender and served in great portions. Absolutely enjoyed their concept of grilling your own steak on a hot stone! It was a whole new steak experience. AMAZING service by all staff members. We particularly enjoyed being served by our waiter, who was prompt and very kind. He anticipated every need of ours and brought them even without asking. I would go back just for his services! Ambience was quite good as well. Very decent but not too posh or straight laced. Reminded me of a more casual version of Hawksmoor. Ideal for any type of family or social meals. Overall, would definitely recommend it!

I’m from Texas. I know steak. This was by far one of the best steak experiences I’ve ever had, especially for the price. Excellent service, unique environment, and outstanding food. Visiting London only but I could see how this would be a staple for locals. Great food, good wine a drinks, and all without breaking the bank.

My beef is with the Gloucester Road, Steak and Co. Had the opportunity to have dinner here with my husband. Had no problem with the food — except the small portion size(lamb — around 19,00PS) AND the 4 Pounds cover charge — 2 pounds per person! For what exactly? There was no live music or entertainment. The waiter was nowhere to be found — I had to leave — I just hate it when establishments shamelessly eke out the last cent from their customers. Disgusted.

OK I’ll be honest, it was last month that I came here — but I have been dreaming of it ever since! I’m embarrassingly fussy with meat, especially steak, but every mouthful of this was absolute perfection and I’m almost scared to go back in case it doesn’t live up to the first time! It loses a star for the wait time — their system for giving out tables didn’t seem particularly organised and it took quite some time for our table of three to get seated, but I must say that the annoyance from that experience soon vanished once the food came. Choose your type of steak, then choose your butter(garlic all the way!), rub/seasoning(chili salt for me) then your sauce(Bearnaise pretty please) — the steak comes raw, with your own hot stone to cook your meat EXACTLY to your liking. And the fillet steak was GOOD! The sides were ok too, we all sort of shared fries, onion rings and seasonal veg. But the steak… OH the steak! I’m salivating. I would recommend heading somewhere else for dessert — the chocolate fudge cake type thing we got was a bit disappointing. But go for the steak. Seriously. Steak.

2 friends and I stopped in here before a show on a casual Monday night. We were pleasantly surprised with how good the food was here. The restaurant is in the middle of a very touristy area but don’t let that stop you from trying it. The three of us all got the«steak on a rock», where the meat comes out lightly seared and then you finish the cooking yourself on the hot stone. We chose the 8 oz filets. We each tried a different dipping sauce and butter and they were all delicious. TRYIT. It is a little messy, in terms of popping grease so be a little caustious when adding butter to the hot stone to cook your meat. Very good. I would return here if I am ever in London.

Wow what can I say apart from the best steak restaurant I have ever been in. It took about 30 mins to get a table, admittedly it was New Year’s Eve and we hadn’t booked! I had the rib eye and my wife and daughter had the fillet steak. They bring the steak out to the table seared, but still blue on the inside, and then you have a super hot block to cut you steak up on a cook to how you want it done. Quality of steak was amazing and their rustic chips were Devine. Little trick to remember if your going here, you can put your chips and other items on the hot rock as well to keep them hot whilst your waiting for your steak pieces to cook. Would I go back? Most definitely !!!

Ever want to cook your steak a little more, but not send it back to the kitchen? Or warm the last few pieces up? Steak & Co serves their steaks cooked a perfect rare on a blazing block of iron and you let it cook to the perfect color at your table. And the block stayed very hot throughout dinner, so I could heat up the last few strips of my 10oz. boneless ribeye and savor the seared flavor. Along with a nicely aged steak, they offer a choice of seasoned salt, seasoned butter and sauce to go with your steak choice. Add excellent chips(steak fries) and my friend and I had a meal with a lot of different tastes and textures. Our appetizer portion of barbecue chicken wings and the garlic bread with cheese were also a highlight. The other appetizers we sampled were good but nothing out of the ordinary. All the servers were very attentive. Dishes were cleared promptly and we received new silverware for our entrée. And a special thank you to Abbie the hostess, who was the loveliest person I met in London. Definitely try it out if you want a great steak experience in London.

This place is decent, but somehow I don’t have a deep impression of it. Like the steak was nice, but it didn’t keep me wanting more. Maybe just me though, and despite that I would still give it 4 stars.

Never disappoints. It’s a must visit when in London. Served on a hot stone, your steak is cooked to perfection… Delivered to you with amazing yummy sides — Fillet steak, garlic butter & rustic fries! Surroundings are lovely, we sat outside, enjoyed people watching & was given steak & go blankets for when it got a little chilly. Staff were extremely friendly & very accommodating. Honestly — if you’re ever in London, please visit. You won’t be disappointed. P.s — garlic bread starter with cheese, mouth watering at the though!

Steak served on a piping hot slate that YOU cook to perfection = amazing! I’ve never tasted such succulent, tasty, mouthwatering steak at such a decent price. So here’s the concept — all the steak arrives rare on the cooking slate, you then put the steak on your plate and cook it further(if you wish) as you eat it(by returning it to the cooking slate). You also choose 3 different flavourings to accompany your steak; a butter, flavoured salt and sauce(I went for garlic butter, chilli salt and mushroom sauce — there are so many options to choose from). The side dishes were also fantastic — onion rings, mash, coleslaw. Again lots of choice here. There was no room for dessert unfortunately(but definitely next time). I’d say come hungry to eat here as the portions are very generous. The staff are lovely and friendly too. Wonderful restaurant!

After having a few ho hum meals here in London I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Very simple premise which we don’t have in LA but that I think would work very well if people would take extra care and not burn themselves and sue the restaurant because Americans are so sue happy. At Steak & Co. You a nice sized steak(8oz or 10z) in different cuts(rib eye, sirloin, filet), pick a butter, a rub and a sauce. It gets served to you cooked seared rare with a good sized hot stone and you cut & cook your meat the remainder of the meal yourself. Genuis! I ordered filet with garlic butter, salt & pepper rub and bearnaise and the meat was super tender. The Mac & cheese was good, Cesar salad was a bit overdressed and soggy and the chips and onion rings, excellent. I’m so happy to have found great tasting steak in London. Yay!

I’ve been here about 3 or 4 times and never leave disappointed. This place actually got me to like steak the first time I went. The fishcakes are a bit dry but the rest of the food and service is great! It is a lot to get through — definitely somewhere to go on an empty stomach! Their lunch menu is also very good for a quick bite — 4 oz steak, chips & Salad for £10−15. I went once when it was quite busy though and was sat inside at the back — ended up leaving smelling like a bbq/bombfire.

Steak & Co can be summed up with one saying«Nice idea, shame about the execution». The setting, the staff and the menu seem nice but when it comes down to the actual details there is much fine-tuning to be done. I noticed 4 «cardinal sins». Firstly, the table for 2 is so small it is somewhat uncomfortable to even cut your steak as your elbows have no space to rest and when people on the tables next to you get up to go to the toilet or leave they are bound to invade your space or knock your elbows somewhat. There is limited space to even place the food and drink. Secondly, seeing as steak is supposed to be its speciality, the steak I had was decidedly unremarkable and probably below par compared to other steak restaurants as I found it rather tough and tasteless apart from the layer of pepper on top. Thirdly, the«seasonal vegetables» I had included carrots that were either over-boiled or dry to begin with, such that they had a sleet of white colour, plus there was no dressing or taste added to the vegetables. Fourthly, the waiter does not provide or ask to provide any sauce when serving fries which forces you to request it especially. What saves this dining experience is that the garlic mushrooms and mash potato sides are very nice, the menu has a good variety and it serves halal steak, and the opportunity to season and watch your steak sizzle in front of you is a nice feature also. Thus all in all, a «nice idea, just shame about the overall execution».

Returned here today since the whole steak cooking novelty was very well liked by my kids… The ribeye was fantastic, this time I went with the chili salt(which we never got on our first visit even though it was ordered) the chile butter and the red wine sauce. I also ordered the Mac and cheese based on the other Unilocal reviews… Can’t say that I would order it again though. It was a white sauce with some form of very sharp white cheddar melted on top. It wasn’t bad but definitely not what I was hoping for. The sweet potato fries came through though! They were sweet salty deliciousness! Oh and they have a kids menu! I can’t believe we weren’t even offered the kids menu the first time we came. My youngest got a burger and fries that she enjoyed. We ordered the sticky toffee pudding for dessert… It was a rather small portion for the price but it tasted lovely.
