One thing you learn as you grow up into adulthood is that your parents were probably right and wiser about a lot of things than you perhaps gave them credit for at the time. One of the things I’m eternally grateful to my parents for is the fact that they made me finish all my piano exams at school, so that I can now play most music and I’m involved in the worship at church. My sister and I have a lovely upright piano at home with a wonderful rich sound but one of my secret drerams is to one day own a house big enough to house a baby grand piano. Until then, I have to content myself by wandering into places like Steinway Hall and metaphorically drool over the wonderful grand pianos in there They have a great selection of traditional non electronic grand pianos, most of which are priced in the ‘serious treat to oneself’ category! I’ve been too shy to have a tinkle in the shop so far but I then head down to Chappells in Soho to play on their electronic pianos, keyboards and traditional pianos. Steinway also hold free concerts, mainly on Wednesday evenings when you can hear these pianos being put through their paces If I ever get that house, I’ll be back!

Such a wonderful selection of Pianos! Steinway Hall has some of the most beautiful instruments I have ever seen. The sound produced by the Steinway pianos is like no other, they are a pleasure to play. I would recommend anyone who plays the piano to visit.
