The funny, loud, impressive, jaw gaping, family fun, musical! And if you’re Asian like me, it’s cheap! I loved coming to watch this play, musical thingy. The presentation and just the amount of coordination that it took to make this all possible just blows my mind! I mean, it was just a delight every second of it! And even though I wasn’t expecting it, it was very funny! They setup everything between being funny, and being musical. Honestly, it was more like a 4 ½ star, but since I’m the only other guy reviewing it, it would make this place 4 ½ stars. The beginning for me, was the best part. Towards the middle/end, it really slowed down for me and, although still entertaining, I missed the fun they had in the beginning! Honestly just a lot of fun though… Cheap, convenient and guaranteed to put a smile on your face!

Phenomenal? Yes. Impressive? Yes. Original? Without a doubt. Choreography? Stupendous. Humour? Simple but charming. Stomp delivers complex synchronised rhythms of tapping, clapping, clicking, slapping, thumping, hitting, batting, bashing and everything in between. Stomp proves that creating a racket with common everyday items can be an art in itself. It also makes hitting yourself and even doing the washing up look cool. Where Stomp lands just short of perfect is that it lacks in colour, costumes and set design i.e. lacks the certain finishing touch that you may come to expect from a West End show. Nevertheless, the content of Stomp is ingenious and immaculately performed and a must-see for anyone at all interested in rhythm and percussion. It is also unique in the fact that it could easily be understood by anyone of any language or age.
