Now hold your panties, this place is brilliant! Took me a while to realize it was some kind of treasury.
Okay, this might not be the wild stuff you’re expecting when thinking of a city trip to London, but I got me some new knickers. Almost a complete new knicker wardrobe in 1 whammy…12 knickers to be precise. Paid 33 pounds only. Proper brands too… DKNY. Gilly Hicks? Marilyn Monroe intimates? Jessica Simpsons intimates? Anyways, DKNY, they’ve got it!
You see it’s been a while since I got new undies. It’s been so long actually, I was starting to get worried about being hit by a bus and having being undressed on the operating table. Give a whole new meaning to wardrobe malfunction. The horror!
If getting new knickers is enough to get me excited, imagine the ecstasy I experienced when I had to decide which pair was going to be the first 1 to wear after throwing them in the washing machine.

TK Maxx (or TJ Maxx to any American readers) is one of the best stores in Lewisham and you literally can find anything here. This is a great branch that covers three levels and is bright and spacious.
TK Maxx sometimes has that air of sifting through a jumble sale but when you find your treasure boy is it worth it!
I would say it is the perfect place to find a bargain for bags, shoes, luggage and photo albums (I love theirs and now have a collection from here!)
I find the customer service at this branch a tad hit and miss though which is a shame and there are often long queues.
Located in the centre of Lewisham with one entrance in the mall and the other in the town centre, it is close to lots of bus stops and a short walk to the train station and the DLR.

I was innocently wandering through Lewisham Centre a few weekends ago with a friend and her baby when we were lured in to TK Maxx by a turquoise dress just inside. Moments later I found myself in the changing room with an armful of dresses on hangers, leaving the store shortly after with two of them in my possession.
This is what can happen when your guard is down.
I saw many more nice dresses and skirts I would have tried on if I was actually there to shop, but managed to restrain myself on this occasion (my food cupboard thanks me). It was pretty busy and bustly in there as it was a Saturday afternoon, but I didn’t have to wait to try anything on and the payment queue moved pretty fast. The changing room attendant was horribly moody but that was pretty easy to ignore.

its good but more often a jumble sale and mixture of sizes that frustraight the hell out of you, pick up your size in several items go to try them on and find none actually fit !

TK Maxx is one of the better shops in Lewisham but unless you have an hour or two to trawl through the rails it can be a bit of a task to find what you’re looking for.
If you have the time though and a good eye you can get some really good bargains here. A pair of gorgeous CK sunglasses from £89 to just £12.99?! And some Nike running shorts from £24.99 to just £6.99! They also have good range of cut-​price ski wear upstairs and it’s also good for cheap toys and games too.
Although it can get a bit hectic here at the weekends, and you have to check the clothes carefully for rips and tears, missing buttons, dodgy zips on the rare occasions, but overall a decent shopping experience for the area.

TK Maxx is one of those stores that if you treat it as a rummage sale, you won’t be disappointed, and the Lewisham store is no exception. My recommendation would be never go in for anything specific, and be open minded about what you might buy.
My major quibble with this particular branch is that it’s a cut through from the Lewisham Centre and the high street, and you can be mown down by fast moving prams haring down the centre aisle without looking, hell bent on getting from one end to the other, never looking left or right.
Once you move beyond the ground floor to the upper floors and the household section, you’re actually in a halcyon paradise of relative tranquility, and freedom to actually look (I can’t be bothered raking through the ladies clothes on the ground floor — I know I can find exactly what I want in Matalan up the road) in peace.
Recent bargains have included some Le Creuset pinkware at approximately 80% off RRP, a Cath Kidston double duvet set at about 60% off RRP, and some lovely fluffy grey towels.

T. K Maxx can always provide you with the odd fashionable surprise. They tend to be huge stores with rail upon rail of normally haphazardly arranged out of season goods. If you are on a spending spree give yourself a good hour to sift through the stock. Whether it is footwear, men’s or women’s clothing you are bound to find a bargain.
If you are not looking for clothes don’t despair. They sell household goods to.
T.K Maxx is always a winner when you are looking to buy on a budget.

quite ffrankly i find tk maxx too expensive, and the clothes are always on the floor. this place could easily be the worst i have ever come across– having gone once, that was enough, i didn’t even buy anything (eventually bought my items from the market!) whats more the market is cheaper

I love discount shopping slightly more than I love ice cream and slightly less than I love sleeping. And that is a LOT. So TK Maxx is some sort of Mecca to me and this one in Lewisham is my local place of worship; not a bad branch, either.
I’m a label whore when it comes to TK Maxx — I want what I can’t usually have and I want it for less. On today’s visit I found a plentitude of See by Chloe, a couple of McQ by Alexander McQueen numbers, some Simply Vera by Vera Wang, a darling Valentino Roma skirt, lots of Valentino R.E.D., a few Full Circle pieces, some pretty Elle McPherson undies and delicate Myla lace bras amongst other things. (I won’t say what percentage of all that I purchased) In conclusion there are real treasures to be found and if, like me, you relish a really good rifle through the rails, you’ll have an absolute field day at TK Maxx.
Don’t expect wonders from the staff — they’re not bad but they’re not great. The bargains, however, are wicked. My favourite bit is the clearance rails. Get involved!
