If you want a classy microwave meal then this is the place for you. They probably do the best kebab rolls in the south east and are really cheap.

Tandoori Express, contrary to the nomenclatural implication of ‘standard’ curry house fare, is quite remarkable. The food is classic North Indian/Pakistani fare; robust muscular daals and saag with rich lamb and chicken curries galore. They also make and serve bhajia, meat samosa, chicken tikka, stuffed paratha, tandoori roti and tender kebab. The entrance to Tandoori Express is actually in Douglas Way, just off Deptford High Street, go figure. No matter, it’s worth the four or five step detour to find this gem. In many cases the food is so fresh it’s made to order(the roti being the case in point). This place is made for collect your own take-aways(they don’t deliver). Don’t be put off by appearances — this is a classic ‘caff’ serving the local community. The trick is in what it serves — classic North Indian/Pakistani food to a clientele who really appreciate it. If you’re looking for your first taste of ‘real’ Punjabi food and live locally, it’s a treat.
