Tanguito is an authentic Argentine TANGO Academy.

We teach with an original technique using modern teaching tools to produce happy, shiny, dancy people. During our friendly and relaxed classes you’ll explore the steps, the music, and how to join a «milonga», these incredible tango parties where everything comes together like magic.

All regular classes, from complete beginners to intermediate classes, are drop-​in without booking and no partner is needed.

History

Established in 2011.

We fell in love with Tango nearly 10 years ago, and our dream was to establish a guenuine Argentine tango Academy in London — from this dream was born Tanguito, in North London.

Our approach was to go beyond steps and also explore the music, the history of tango and the etiquette of «milongas», these incredible tango parties where everything comes together like magic. We also believe tango belongs to everyone, irrespective of previous experience (s) of dancing, so we developed a methodology to make it friendly, fun-​filled, and approachable for all!

The bug really bit me early!

I started dancing when I was 5. My parents decided to enrol me at a local dance school. My first steps as a dancer were incidentally my teacher’s first steps as an instructor and naturally, we grew together in our craft and as people for 15 years (within which time I grew considerably in height too). I started with basic ballet technique and then went on to study modern and contemporary dance.

I started tango in 2000, at first for fun, then it became a little more important when I was prepping for my first dance. The thing that kept me going back for more though was my enjoyment of the classes and because I liked socialising with the friends I had made there. After my first trip to Buenos Aires, I carried on tango out of sheer addiction: to the music, to the embrace, to the deep tango culture, to the beauty of the dance and the emphasis on the ‘here and now’.

I decided to open an Argentine Tango academy to allow everyone to enjoy this beautiful dance.
