Having walked past two rather nasty looking cafes, I entered the Albion yesterday afternoon in desperation. Friendly staff served me a lovely cold orange juice and left me to read at a table for an hour. Amused myself looking at all the photos of singers and bands from the sixties. Other people were obviously holding business meetings around the pub — great idea.

The Albion has got to be my new favorite pub in hammersmith. And that says a lot as Hammersmith does have some great pubs like the dove and the Queen’s Head, to name a few. But what sets the Albion apart is the music. On Fridays the have a live band and during the week they have djs come in and do a few sets. They play some really great music– none of the top 40 music, in case you were wondering. So if you are after a nice cozy little catch up– this is not the place for you. It is going to be loud and get progressively louder through the night, but you will love it. The menu is pretty simple. We usually tend to get the wood fire pizzas — but I don’t think that’s the real focus of this place. The staff is really helpful and friendly and usually keep it open till about 1 ish. An easy 4!

Very nice and cosy traditional friendly English pub with a very good selection of real ales. Recommend to young and old alike and well worth a visit.

Lovely looking pub in the Kensington area. The décor really creates a nice feel to the place. It’s a feel that didn’t quite work when it was packed out on a Saturday night but even when busy the venue managed not to be unpleasant. There was some nice live music on. Some people seemed to think it was a bit tame. but maybe they should head of to a club. There are plenty of manic places on the weekend and I was enjoying the band. The ale here happens to be rather good too. And the selection was not predictable. This is not a sports publook no TVs. I can definitely see myself coming back here to enjoy the surroundings in quieter circumstances.

This seemingly family run bar is one of the nicer in the area in terms of friendliness of staff and good food. The bar staff always have a smile and make you feel welcome, and they remembered my drink having been there just a couple of times. They’re patient if you’re indecisive about what you’re having for lunch, and they go out of their way to make polite conversation. On a Friday evening they tend to have a band in, and many companies finish their working week here pretending to listen.
