The Atrium

I am stumped about how many stars to give this place. What an odd place for breakfast. You arrive into what looks like a 1980s office block for the ministry of dullards. Once past the security staff you arrive in a 100 foot high atrium. Painted cream and gold. A bit like a Cricklewood interpretation of classy.
I arrived at 830 for breakfast and there was not another soul. Completely dead. A single waitress. One lukewarm cappuccino later my breakfast guest arrived and we ate a lame cooked breakfast. I had a wonderful bacon sandwich with a greasy fried egg and yucky hash browns. My guest had eggs Benedict which looked like it had been under the grill. Still completely dead.
Then Jesse Jackson walked past.
What?! Was that Jesse Jackson?! I unwittingly exclaimed. yes it was answered one of his entourage still wafting past. It turns out this is the BBC’s Westminster operation plus a few politician’s and lobbyists have offices.
All I wanted was a decent breakfast. What I got was a handshake from a towering historical figure of the civil rights movement.
