The Blue Legume

I went for dinner with a friend. Had a wonderful vegetarian dinner. It tasted superbly and the place is solo nice. On plus the care of the staff is spot on. A nice candle light dinner place. Very romantic!

I see this café every day from the bus on my way to work, so we decided to try it last Monday, as it’s the only one I saw that serve breakfast until four (in my day off I want to stay in bed as much as I can…). I really like the place. It has a mediterranean taste in its décor, and the menu is simple but diverse. I had a Mediterranean Breakfast (a good option when you are a little bit tired of the classical English Breakfast) and a Bloody Mary, and I liked it. I’m not giving it 5 stars cause my poached egg (and my husband’s) was overcooked, and I love poached eggs… but, I’m quite sure I will come back and try more things!

Off the busy high street on a corner plot and is a quite unassuming place, but the atmosphere and food is fantastic.
For Crouch End, the menu is pretty cheap too, so feel free to let loose on the side orders of hash browns, mushrooms et al. I had the Hash Brown breakfast which came with bacon, scrambled egg and toast and damn did it hit the spot.
They also do some funky smoothies — I personally can vouch for the Berry smoothie being berry nice indeed.
This place gets crowded, and so the noise levels can hit stratospheric levels which was the only annoyance for me, but you can’t really be mad at them for being popular.
We came with a 2-​year-​old, got a a great table and a high chair on the end and the staff enjoyed playing with her and keeping her entertained, a definite bonus.
