Description

Specialties

A bijou EC4 dining spot, just off Chancery lane that attracts a chic city-centric crowd. The Chancery occupies a small corner site on Cursitor Street and will soon sit proudly beside the headquarters for Saatchi and Saatchi. Intimate in size, the restaurant has three dining rooms, two on the ground floor and a smaller more intimate dining room on the lower ground floor all suited for private parties allowing up to 70 guests. Front of house is led by Restaurant Manager Sylvain Gergeaux & team whilst Graham Long oversees a creative kitchen & a seasonal menu which will impress the most spoiled gourmands having won rave reviews for its innovative menus. Perfect for cosy dinner parties The Chancery has a Manhattan-esque appeal, and the slick interior and charismatic crowd add to the bonhomous vibe.

The Chancery boasts art by the likes of Tess Jaray, Kenneth Martin, Michael Landy and Gary Walton to compliment the rooms.

A recent expansion sees the completion of a new 35 cover private dining room with its own separate entrance completely independent to the restaurant.

History

Established in 2004.

Zak Jones, owner of The Chancery started his career with Anton Mossiman followed by The Dukes Hotel and then The Four Seasons London Park Lane with acclaimed French Chef Bruno Loubet.

The final move was joining Marco Pierre White, the youngest chef to ever win 3 Michelin Stars.

Zak ran Marco’s restaurants including The Criterion Brasserie, Quo Vadis, Mirabelle and finally taking over as General Manager at L’Escargot in 2000.

In 2001 Zak purchased his very first restaurant known as The Clerkenwell Dining Room.

Three years later in 2004 Zak Jones opened his second restaurant The Chancery.

In 2010 he bought out his business partner and became sole proprietor of the restaurant. In 2011 The Chancery had a full refurbishment and in 2012 celebratory chef Jun Tanaka’s Head Chef Simon Christey-French took over transferring over from Pearl Restaurant which was part of The Chancery Court Hotel.

This, for the time being, completes The Chancery.
