Description

Specialties

A British pub with great lager, ale and a wide range of spirits, specializing in boutique gin and fantastic food. Off the beaten track, The Colonel Fawcett attracts a wide range of discerning clientele who help to create a warm and inviting atmosphere.

History

Established in 2011.

In early 2011 three friends in their 20’s met up and decided to act upon something they all wanted to do, own their own pub. So, one by one they all quit their respective jobs and set about searching for the perfect location for their first project together. They found it, The Camden Arms. Swiftly we changed the name to The Colonel Fawcett who was the last person in Britain to die from a duel and who, indeed, actually died in the upstairs room above the pub itself, hence the name. The Colonel’s favourite tipple was gin and so the story and pub took shape, with us now being one of the finest gin pubs in Britain as well as stocking a wide range of ales, lagers, wines and other spirits to be served alone or alongside our award winning food!

Meet the Business Owner

Angus S.

Business Owner

Angus’s role within The Colonel Fawcett is unique. He acts as the main financial controller for the business but alongside this he has actually found another couple of great loves to keep him busy — horticulture and waste management.

Whether it’s watering the plants, creating new flower arrangements or finding new places to store glass bottles, Angus is always moving The Colonel Fawcett forward.
