American in London on a business trip. Stopped in this place this morning and ordered the English breakfast #1. It was delicious and inexpensive. The tea it came with was equally good. It was a nice early-morning atmosphere in this café. You can’t really ask for more from a place like this.

This is my local greasy spoon café. The Gossip is as basic as it gets, and you’ll be pushed to find a single frill here. There are around six options for breakfast: Full English and derivatives of. If you don’t want a plate full of wholesome egg, bacon, sausage etc… for a very respectable £4.75, you can get sandwiches, baps and rolls. I order a long roll that was stacked with egg and bacon for £2.60. The thing was at least a foot long and oh so tasty in an old fashioned, working-class traditional way. I enjoyed it. The café holds about twenty people. The morning gets busy, so you’d be hard pushed to get a seat. I cannot rave about The Gossip Stop Café as there is really nothing to rave about, yet its innocence makes me smile. I will go again, but it doesn’t make my hot list for London cafes.
