The Harry Potter Shop at Platform 9 3/4

This shop is located right next to the 9 ¾ picture op. It’s medium-​sized, with a lot of interesting (albeit overpriced) Harry Potter memorabilia, like shirts, scarves, wands, knick knacks, etc. Though it can get a bit busy, it is a nice place to pop into.

This is a amazing shop or should I say two shops for any Harry Potter fan. It is full of merchandise from wands, tshirts, snowglobes, toy white owls, etc Tjhe shop is quite antique style layout so quite magical in that respect. Also this shop is next to the famous wall that has the plaque 9−¾ which leads you into the magical world of Harry Potter but obviously only if you get the special magical invite to go through the magical wall as I understand. So if you are looking though for great Harry Potter merchandise I highly recommend. However gets quite overcrowded and quite hard to walk through when it is.

Whoa Platform 9 ¾! The inner nerd in me definitely had to come here when in London. The line to take a picture wasn’t long but it takes quite some time to take a picture. You get to pick which scarf to wear. Slytherin for me! If you’re a Harry Potter fan, it’s most definitely a fun store to check out.

Despite working nearby, I’d never went to the Harry Potter shop, but following my visit to the Making of Harry Potter on Christmas Eve, I wanted to go check it out.
I think it’s a great shop — not large, but lots of things to see. It’s spread over 2 shops next to each other, and I’m pretty sure everything in the left hand shop is also in the right hand shop, but there’s more overall in the right-​hand one. It reminded me a lot of the shops at the Making of Harry Potter (just much, much smaller!) and several of the items I saw here I saw up in Leavesden, too.
They have a variety of train-​related things, as well as general tshirts, and a section for each of the 4 houses.
I didn’t queue up for the Platform 9 ¾ photo, nor did I buy anything in the shop, but it was still neat to look around and while expensive, there’s plenty of things there I ‘need’ and will probably end up purchased at some point!

What a little gem in King’s Cross!
Located near the rail station toilets, it is very easy to find, and of course, it is only steps away from the Platform 9 ¾ attraction.
I visited the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios a few months ago and this store is at least up to the same standards as the theme park, if not better. Its theming, merchandise and organization couldn’t be better.
The store packs a large variety of different merchandise into a very small space and if you are a die hard fan, you must visit the Platform 9 ¾ store. If the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando, Florida is too far for you, come here as it is a miniature version of the theme park. Most of the merchandise is identical to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, while others are unique to this store. Wands, clothing, unique art, sweets, and recreations of artifacts from the books are just some of the treasures here.
If you are planning a visit, keep in mind that there may be a queue where you must wait to enter the store. It is a very small store and can get quite crowded. Try to leave any bulky bags outside the store.

There is a place that any Harry Potter fan as to go once in their lifetime, this shop!
Firstly cuz it’s in kings cross right next to platform 9 and ¾ then cuz it reminds me of the diagon alley shop vibe!

I’ve always been a huge HP fan, so to finally be here was awesome! The store is located before platform 9 ¾ at King’s Cross station, which I think is really awesome! Before you get in you have to que up since there are a lot of people who want to visit and the shop is unfortunately quite small. The que luckily went very quick though.
In the shop they have really nice merchandise, although it is quite expensive. I’ve always wanted a ‘real’ house jumper so my boyfriend and I bought each other one for Christmas ;p They’re really good quality and I think it’s worth the price! You can also buy other things like, wands, chocolate frogs, mugs, etc. It’s really worth visiting if you’re a HP fan!
Also, next to the shop you can take pictures with a trolley going into the wall, but the que for that is extremely long. The pictures that they take there will be in the shop for you to buy.

Very cute store but it is VERY small and crowded and difficult to make your way through. Pretty much everything they sell there is also available in the Harry Potter section of Hamley’s Toy Store so unless you happen to be at King’s Cross Station, there really isn’t any point in shopping there unless you specifically want to be able to say that you bought your HP wand at King’s Cross Station (like my kid wanted to do).

Know ahead of time that this place is SMALL and always crowded. Don’t be confused about joining the photo line: that’s separate & the people running that are enthusiastic.
There is a separate queue to the left just to enter the shop.
It’s fun to be at 9 ¾, although I’m sure you could buy the same stuff online.
There are loads of places to eat, but I would recommend going upstairs because there are more tables. Public bathrooms are a walk and require 30p per person — this is important to know!
Upstairs there are also tables where you do not have to buy anything but may sit and eat/​drink your own stuff.

My inner nerd exploded with joy when i finally arrived at king’s cross station. There is a trolly set up outside the store where people line up to get their picture taken at platform 9 ¾. They let you choose the scarf you want and they have a person swing the scarf up to make you look like you were really flying through the platform. They even let you take your own picture instead of buying from them (9.5 gbp). I came at around 1:30 pm on friday and were surprise to see there were no line. Everyone was very pleasant and the photographer really care to give all us harry potter fans a great picture to take home.
The store is on the small size but they have everything from ticket to hogwarts, sweaters, chocolate frogs to wands… I read online that the platform 9 ¾ items are only sold at this location. This place made me so happy and I think all harry potter fans should try to make a trip here if you are ever in London.

Very organized. They have a que for photos so you don’t have to have a mad rush of people trying to get to the one trolly. The trolly is staffed with a photographer and even someone to assist you with a scarf (that they provide).
The line moves quickly. And actually its one of the more pleasant lines to stand in. It’s filled with eager Hogwarts hopefuls and everyone is genuinely excited to be there (well maybe not the Dad who is just there to shoot photos of the kids) but more or less everyone in line is pleasant and excited.
The store offers some really great Hogwarts gear from Cardigans to wands.

A must stop if your a big fan. It is a small store and can get crowded. It is located in the train station next to the Platform 9 ¾ photo op which in itself can be really busy. It is pricey but nothing like a little shopping therapy to pick something unique for that big Harry Potter fan.

After you get back from your trip at Platform 9 ¾ head over to store around the corner. This place is a Potter’s heads paradise! From Wands to Maps that only work if you swear you’re up to no good, everything you can think of, well I’m sure you can find it and then some.
My son is a huge huge Harry Potter fan, and well because he had made me read the books before we even got to see the movies I too am a fan, so I knew I couldn’t leave this place without getting him something!
Staff was friendly and into the spirit of Harry Potter, so take a minute out of your Muggle life and imagine your school shopping in Diagon Alley, so much fun!

Small and crowded, this shop’s proximity to Platform 9 ¾ is its major claim to fame. And that proximity means that prices are high.
They stock a good variety of HP-​themed merchandise, but unless you’re interested in test-​driving a high-​quality wand (and who isn’t?), you can probably do better online.

Même pas besoin d’aller sur les quais, l’animation se trouve dans le hall de la gare ! Un mec vous demande dans quelle maison vous voulez être et un autre vous prend en photo. Le premier, je l’avoue, était hilarant.
Vous pouvez récupérer votre photo à la boutique située juste à gauche du chariot. Vous y trouverez aussi des mugs, des porte-​clés et des baguettes. Pour le coût, les baguettes sont moins chère là qu’aux studios ou au rayon HP de Harrod’s, par contre les porte-​clés sont plus chers.

I was very excited to go here. I ran into the store only to find out that all their stock of shirts were small. When asked when they would get more they didn’t know. Being a tourist and wanting a shirt was shattered. You cannot find these shirts online either. Horrible experience for me.

Great little shop, if you’re a fan of Harry Potter of course, which I am, so I loved it! It is very small for the amount of people wandering around it. I didn’t stay too long in there as I had a big bag on my back and felt I would probably either take out a tourist with my bag or half the Harry Potter souvenirs! I still managed to buy something in there, and the shop assistant was really friendly which always makes a shopping experience more pleasant. They seemed to have moved the 9 ¾ platform from where I remember it last but it looks like you can now put on a scarf, etc for that authentic Harry potter look! I felt slightly jealous of the people queuing up ;)

So I had a bit of free time on a Saturday afternoon waiting for my train home, so I finally checked out this shop.
I mean it’s cool. It’s full of Harry Potter stuff. You can get Harry Potter sweaters and scarves for all the houses. They have books and character wands and a board game and a bunch of other Harry Potter stuff. Like a bunch of it.
Which is cool if you love Harry Potter. It’s okay for me. I mean I do have a photo of me pushing the trolley at the wall. But that was back in the day before there was a queue and they were forcing people to take professional photos of it. (I think if you come in the evening you can still snap a photo of yourself on your phone without the malarkey.)
So if you’re a fan, check it out. If you’re not, it may be a bit ridiculous for you.

A little slice of heaven in King’s Cross. This store carries a lot of the same authentic HP products you can only find at the Leavesden Studios in the London area (at least as far as I know).
That means that after queuing up for a few for a picture with the increasingly awesome Platform 9 ¾ (they’ve added some details, you can wear a scarf and glasses… etc), you can go around the corner and disappear in among the wands and crests and candy you’ve been missing since you were last at the studio tour four months ago… such a long time!
The also have the full sets of books, both adult and child covers, which are hard to find in the city. Basically, you can find all the things you forgot you wanted to buy, and take a little break of this Britain and enjoy that one for a few minutes. It’s a nice place to be.

What’s that tapping outside my window? *Gasp!* Is it finally the owl with the letter saying I’ve been accepted to Hogwarts? Is it! … No, it’s juts a burglar. Go away burglar, can’t you see I’m waiting for an owl.
Ok, I’ve accepted that my owl may never come and I guess I’ll have to live out a sad Muggle life. But at least I can pretend a bit in Harry Potter spots all throughout London.
The newest one is the Harry Potter Shop at Platform 9 and three quarters. For the longest time, this was just a quick photo opp: A basic carriage cut in half and placed against the wall with a «Platform 9 ¾» sign above, so when you grab it, it looks like you’re running through to the Hogwarts Express. All abroad, my friends!
Now they’ve capitalized a little more on this by building a store right next to it, filled with Harry Potter wonder. Shelves full of wands, books, clothes (like sweaters for each of the houses. Although I’d watch out for anyone eyeing a Slytherin green one. They might just steal it. *Shaking fists*). There’s even a fun glass cabinet with replica props from the movie, like Tom Riddle’s diary or Lucius Malfoy’s Death Eater mask.
They even made the carriage outside a little better. What used to be an empty cart is now filled with suitcases and an owl cage. You’re all set to go and learn your spells now.
To get really British and nerdy here, this store is the opposite of a certain doctor’s blue time machine. While that is bigger on the inside, this store is actually smaller that it appears. I thought it would be a large shop that continues way back, like the Foyles or the M&S, with more and more rooms as you walk through. Alas, no. The store is tiny, one small room separated into two parts.
Still, they pack a lot of fun into a small space. You’ll feel über geeky walking through, but you’ll be surrounded by the equally geeky, so no worries. Plus, you can all commiserate on not getting your owl… Yet.
