I’ve come to this pub for many a work lunch due to it being only about a ten minute walk and I’m sure on a weekday this type of clientele makes up most of the customers. Now called Wood, though we refuse to call it that, thankfully they seem to have got rid of most of the surly female bar staff who treated you with scorn for having the nerve to order food or drink from them. Although from outside you would be right to assume it is a regular English pub but head inside and you find a wonderful menu particularly with a great variety of delicious Thai options(I can highly recommend the Prawn Pad Thai). The prices are what you would expect for Central London, particularly Marylebone, circa £10 for Prawn Pad Thai and a Sprite. The pub has a good atmosphere and is always busy — and remember I’m reviewing this based on a weekday lunch time so can only imagine it’s a hell of a lot busier on weeknights /ends. Great location — walking distance to Marylebone and Baker St stations and served by lots of buses too.

We mostly come here to lunch from the office. This place serves Thai food and drinks at reasonable prices. The food makes a cold day deliciously warm.

Decent pub with good selection of drinks at average prices. Didnt seem too busy even on a friday night, a plus or minus depending on how you look at it!

It’s your typical English pub but its got a staff serving Thai food. I was once told that if Thai food has red peppers in it, it isn’t real Thai food — that pretty much says it all. The green curry I had was satisfying but not something I would need to try again.

It took me awhile to get used to the notion that what looks like a traditional English pub on the outside can serve delicious Thai food on the inside. Talk about not judging a book by its cover, the Hobgoblin is the perfect hybrid between the two; in fact, the bar is run separately from the restaurant, and the set-up works perfectly. The menu is pretty extensive, offering several different kinds of curries, plus about ½ dozen noodle dishes. Nothing goes better with a cold beer than drunken noodles, particularly if you yourself are drunk. And the service is quick: they will deliver a plate of hot and spicy goodness to you in record time, making it the ideal place to satisfy post-after-work-drinks cravings. Tip — the upstairs bar is mostly maintained by patrons who epitomize«eating is cheating». Go downstairs to find more seating and faster food service. The only trick is that you have to order drinks at the bar and pay for food separately.

Nestled in a back street between Baker Street and Marylebone, the Hobgoblin is a decent, but pretty dull, run-of the mill boozer. Definitely worth a visit for the reasonably priced Thai food, but if you are looking for excitement or interesting beers I’d head elsewhere.

This pub has become our farewell drinks/Birthday drinks venue for people at work. We moved our offices near here about a year ago and various departments have trawled the area for pubs to go to and it seems everyone has settled on this pub. They let you book tables as well which is good as it can get very busy. Its round the corner from Marylebone station and has a very warm feel about the place. Often has drinkers outside smoking or escaping when it gets very busy. The bar staff are very friendly and will happily run a tab for you. They have some good beers on tap and some excellent wine. Have not eaten here but have heard the food is excellent.

Used to work around the corner from this place and it became a firm favourite at lunchtime. Great real ale(Wychwood and Brakspear brews), good staff, and some of the best-value Thai food I’ve encountered in our capital. Don’t despair if it gets a bit on the busy side due to the local office workers, there’s more space in the basement.
