The Longacre Pub is situated on the corner of Covent Garden, on the way to Leicester Square. A convenient location to stop for some light refreshments when shopping, heading to the theatre, or merely mooching around London town. Its big and brassy, and does have a chain feel about it, and maybe its the seasonal Christmas decorations that made me feel a little bit better about it, but it really didn’t offend me as much as it could have. The wine is quite expensive and the tap water tastes of chemicals, but to take the weight of your feet while trudging around town, it’s worth the stop off.

Good services by the mind blowing waiters lol… Only problem was the section which was near the stairs was weird, because for some reason the the seats were much lower compared to the table, had a bad time sitting. Apart from that very thing was cool.

My wife and I travel to Covent Garden fairly regularly from our home in Essex, for some reason, we have never visited The Long Acre, I have no idea why! We stopped off Sunday morning for brunch before the shops opened. As soon as we walked in, we felt comfortable and relaxed, the atmosphere was extremely pleasant, friendly and welcoming. Seating was comfortable and well spaced, not on top of other diners. The service was excellant, we were seated and served promptly by cheerful, pleasant staff. Our food order was taken and the food arrived in good time, no waiting about but obviously sufficient time to be cooked fresh. The food was delicious, well cooked and nicely presented, good sized portions, excellant value for money. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending the Long Acre and will certainly be visiting more often in the future.

In a handy locations near to the shops this is a handy little place to stop for some post-shopping drinks, however its location between Covent Garden and Leicester Square ensure it is always choc-a-bloc full of tourists(along with every other establishment in the vicinity). That having been said they currently do a wine Wednesday deal where every bottle of wine is the same price as their house wine meaning you can have a bottle of their £45 white for about £13! Bargain! I haven’t had a full meal here but popped along for an after-work wine Wednesday and indulged in some of their ‘starters’ including some olives, potato wedges and some bread and dipping oils and they were very tasty and reasonably priced.

We came here once for the New Years celebration. So, I can’t rate it according to it’s normal business performance. Overall the evening went well, except for the fact that they seated us at the wrong table initially. It was carnival themed, but lame because there weren’t really any decorations, except a couple of stilts. Service was extremely slow, but the waitresses were nice. Food wasn’t really memorable. Also, when I went in on a week night, to pick up my tickets for New Years, the bartenders completely ignored me as I tired to get someone’s attention. It wasn’t even that busy. I was a little peeved.

There’s absolutely nothing memorably about this bar. Average drinks and average space, all topped off with averageness. Nothing bad about the place, just nothing that would get me back through the door. They’ve got a function room downstairs which was nice enough, but I’m not itching to come back and have another generic glass of wine. But by the same token, you won’t be massively offended by the place either. Still, you’re on the edge of Soho, and Covent Garden. You can do a whole lot better.

The LongAcre succeeds at what many pubs in London have tried to accomplish for years. It updates the London Pub to modern standards and tastes while remaining true to the food, friendliness and fine beers that are essential. The LongAcre stands across the street from the Sussex, near Leicester Square. It’s an easy walk from the Charing Cross, Covent Garden, or Leicester Square tube stations. It is a big, open affair with utterly moden décor, a superb bar, and excellent food. The main floor features a pub-like standing and seating area, a restaurant-like dining area that is family friendly, and outdoor sidewalk seating when the weather is nice. Downstairs is a cool, quiet, intimate dining area. Lots of good beers and ales here, and a super friendly staff serving it all up. The food is diverse and ranges from burgers and salads to lasagne and sandwiches to traditionals like sausages, pies, etc. But all served with a flair. My bangers and mash came served over a giant Yorkshire pudding with a pour-your-own boat of sweet onion gravy. Something else the LongAcre does that few other pubs in London do, and that is Reservations. They welcome reservations from groups small(quite family friendly) and large(like the 18 mostly scantily clad young ladies who showed up wearing pink fringed«Hens Night» cowgirl hats the evening I was there. Great place, great part of town, fabulous energy. You’re going to like it!

Ordered a drink. Didn’t get what I had ordered and asked for a replacement. Was told I would be charged if I wanted it to be replaced! In which world do we live? They do the mistake and we have to pay extra for their mistakes? Asked to speak to the manager and he offered to replace it, but the whole process was very annoying and stressful. The waiter I dealt with obviously didn’t have any idea of what customer service is!

Went here for lunch and it definitely hit the spot. Just up the road from the Covent Garden tube. Nice clientele and still a bit of comin & goin in the late afternoon

Now the Long Acre, this was once Bar 38. Large open bar with good seating options on the ground floor and a large downstairs area. Bar serves a full range of drinks, but is not a place for a good traditional beer. Good food menu serving nibbles, the like and more if you want it. The bar is conveniently located in the heart of Covent Garden at the top of St Martin’s Lane and Long Acre. Lots of options for food and entertainment. The bar is a lot busier later in the day. Lunchtimes and afternoons are quiet. It is a popular bar for groups who reserve tables so beware you may have a nice comfortable place only for a Reserved sign to be place on the table.

The Longacre is a good looking bar right outside Leicester Square. it has long opening hours and is a great place to pop into if you’re racing around the area shopping or on business. it’s quite quiet during the days, though weekends can be busy, but the evenings can get pretty crowded. The crowd itself is usually quite young, city and media types and it can be quite cruisy on an evening. Drinks are priced well and there is a good food menu offering traditional pub grub but done to a good standard. Overall a good bar, not amazing nor very atmospheric but done well so you should have few complaints if you find yourselves ending up here.
