Although I’ve never had the food here so I cannot speak to that, I’d like to say the employees were very rude here. On our way into this pub on a cold night they told us to take our hats off(which it fine, but they were so grumpy about it) after we said okay that’s fine the bouncer told us not to drink too much because we didn’t look good anyways… I thought he was extremely rude and decided not to give my business to any company that would employ such a nasty person to represent their bar. We went next door to northcote records which is a fantastic bar with great music, great drinks and great employees/bouncers!!! Go there instead!!!

Let’s be clear. This is a city centre pub, not a local. It has some of the highest prices I’ve encountered in London(almost £5 for pint of shandy), terrible quality(although friendly) bar staff, and it’s horrifically busy. Seriously. Find a pub or find a bar but don’t compromise with this half way house.

already had couple of dates in this lively and lovely pub. It has a great atmosphere and apparently the food is fabulous! It is bit pricey, but worth a visit.

Thursday night was not so bad. It’s a little too crowded for my taste, but I had also been playing tourist so I really wanted to sit down. It struck me as having a meat market feel. They had pear Bulmer’s so I was happy. I would have liked to have sat on one of their couches.

Since moving to Clapham Junction I have become a regular at the Northcote which is now my closest pub. The Northcote is always busy especially on a Friday night but it has a nice atmosphere and is always easy to get served then find a place to sit/stand with your drink.

A firm favorite with me particularly because whenever I go in there are always super hot men everywhere! And I’m not talking your Abercrombie, Hilfiger, American teen girly looking boys. I mean straight up Eden Park meets the Milk Tray man! Aside from the eye candy, they have a respectable wine list, from what I’ve seen a good selection of beers and lagers, spirits aplenty and a small fireplace — sold!

This pub is great. They play great music, I believe there might be a jukebox somewhere. Its always packed full of people and the drinks and beer choices are generally pretty good. The wait staff is kind and though I have not tried the food the menu looks decent but basic. Every time I’ve been here for a pint or 2 the atmosphere is always lively and really fun. People I’ve met here tend to be open and talkative. Quite a nice change from other venues. This is my favorite bar in the area for an upscale pub experience.

Went to check out their Sunday Roast and we were greeted by a cheerful Kiwi and then an Aussie. Both were really friendly and took us to a free table. Very impressed that I got a lemon, lime and bitters(apparently they’re not common in the UK!). Lovely atmosphere and décor, but the food was the let down. £14.50 for a lamb or beef roast, but they came out luke warm, a pitiful amount of lamb(the beef portion was good). Veges were a carrot and cabbage. Walked out feeling slightly peckesh and a tad dissapointed as the food was the only let down.

Does a really good burger, cooked to taste with really nice homemade chips. It wasn’t very busy but I think that will change if all the food is as good as this
