The Park

the park is a nice addition to west norwood park. open pub great to meet friends after a good day in the park. good ales but food isn’t it’s best feature.

I love this place, really lovely staff, great selection of wines etc and there is always good music playing. They also serve great food and are building decking out back for the summer. Out front it has fantastic views over Norwood Park. Nice.

Just thought I should mention the (fairly) newly opened The Park pub on the edge of Norwood Park. Having just moved to the area, we were very pleased to find this gem as most of the pubs around here tend to be of the ‘TV screens on every wall/​corner and filled with drunken, football shirt wearing types’ variety. Which is fine if you like that sort of thing.
The Park is the antithesis of that. It’s got nice comfy sofas, a good wine list as well as a good selection of beers, and definitely no TV’s.
The bar food is of the mezze/​tapas type although the menu is growing and on Sundays they do a full roast. It’s not fancy but it tastes good and comes in generous portions and at a reasonable price.
In addition they have a ‘quiet room’ if you need to escape from the world even more and they are in the process of building a beer garden and barbecue pit that should be ready for the summer.
