I don’t often give five stars to anywhere, but the passage definitely fits the bill. Bar staff are a barrel of laughs and make wicked cocktails. Always the great way to end a night out in Dalston.

Amazing little gem off Kingsland. The music never disappoints!

The Passage has been on my radar for months. This small cocktail bar seems to have taken over what was always intended to be a dry cleaner or something(big glass window at the front). Inside is a super friendly bartender who makes great cocktails — he’s interested in feedback on the drinks as well. Normally I avoid constructive feedback but he was clearly fishing for it on the temperature of my chilli mojito(FYI it had a kick but was fine once some of that crushed ice melted). We had a mini bucket of triple cooked chips but the mains looked very well prepared without being overpriced at all(less than a tenner for seabass). It was quiet without being dead on a Saturday night. It seems when the kitchen closes the DJ kicks in and the bar gets insane(not my words). We didn’t stay that late but I will definitely consider coming back for more cocktails in the future.

Awesome drinks, great vibe, sunny patio(with a Mercedes!), and two of the most kick-ass people I have met behind the bar: Nick and Kollier. We had a week-long Holiday in London: we visited The Passage five times. If I lived in London, this would be my go-to bar. They welcome strangers and friends alike, Nick makes a mean mojito, and the jams went from 90’s hip hop to 50’s jazz. The Passage is perfect. You should probably go.
