If I was designing a house from scratch I would want it to look like the inside of the Peanut Vendor. This shop is a homage to everything that was great about furniture design in the 50s and 60s. Every item in the Peanut Vendor is an original piece of vintage furniture from the tables and chairs which dominate the room to the teacup’s which sit elegantly in the window. A clear effort has been made to avoid cluttering the shop with the ‘retro’ Austin Powers-esque items most people associate with the era. As you would expect, one-off’s like this are not cheap and most of us will have to stick to IKEA for our furniture. If however you’re on a budget and still looking to make a bit of a statement then it’s well worth checking out their range of smaller items like books, clocks and toasters. These items are so affordably priced it would be easy for anyone to take home a bit of the 60s. Please don’t take the golden star clock though, I’m saving up for that one!
