Living in wood green is a challenge when you’re looking for a good pub as they’re in short supply. The Ranelagh has long been a favourite of mine. I’ve done birthday lunches, drinks, open Mic nights and hangover breakfasts here with great success. It’s a warm and welcoming pub in winter months with a great menu and open fire. As yesterday was a six nations day with a England game I went with my friend for food and beers. Cue an epic breakfast sharing platter. It’s huge and well sourced with pretty presentation in a large frying pan. This eased the hangover and the beers helped too. The only drawback was the small screen but it’s a minor detail in the whole package. Well done to the Ranelagh and the team there. you made a dull Valentine’s into something special!

This is my favorite local pub. And still one of the best pubs North London has to offer. The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming you feel like you are at home. Nice and relaxing décor with amazing food. Cant think of a better way to spend some time with friends. Don’t forget the Heated Terrace and amazing Beer garden cant wait for next summer ;)

A great pub. Great food and live music! There is a very good open mic jam session and live music showcase on weekly Thursday evenings. This is well-established, and hosted by music producer; Richard Lobb.

Gotta be one of the best pubs in North London… They have a wide range of events including the famous Open Mic gigs every Thursday, hosted by Richard Lobb, entrance FREE but the musicians would really appreciate a pint or donation if you like them. :). If you want amazing live music get yourself along to The Ranelagh on a Thursday. They offer also offer a Weekly pub quiz, Wednesday wine club, Traditional Sunday Roasts, Heated Terrace and amazing Beer garden, ideal in summer.

A really good pub that is cosey and snug in winter then opens up in summertime to be a great hang out on a hot day in there massive beer garden. Food is classic pub grub with burgers, steaks, pies and roasts on Sundays. Music on a Thursday is a bit raucous but good fun if standard sing-a-long covers are your thing. Marked it down one point as it can tajke ages to get served if they are busy which they often are. A few years ago its sister pub up the road(Made in Muswell) used to be far better but the new manager has taken the Ranelagh above and beyond past it.

Great local pub, more foody than pubby as its not really a standing pub, so go early if in winter. I’ve not been in summer but imagine it becomes even more alive with its huge outdoor area. Great food and friendly good service.

Always a lovely pub to have a bite to eat in, as extensive menu but Thursday nights are something else. If you and your friends are stuck and not sure where to go, head for this pub, grab a table(advisable to pre book a table) and then enjoy the various songs, the band play. Members of the audience get up and play the drums or the sax, you never know who’ll be singing what tune, with which what instrument. The best jamming session around. certainly worth visiting, livens up about 9 ish with dancing and rocks on till late. Food great too.

The Ranelagh is the only pub within walking distance of where I live so even if it wasn’t a lovely place to have a drink(which it is!) I wouldn’t have much choice! In summer, it’s absolutely lovely with a great outdoor terrace and bbqs at the weekend. It’s nice to get back from work and go for a quick lemonade in the sun or a glass of wine or two if it’s been a hard day! I’ve not tried the quiz night yet but it’s on my radar!
