Perfectly ok pub. I didn’t feel this was any more special than the countless other pubs I’ve been to, but the service was quick and friendly. Decent selection of beer and wine on the menu. Had a steak sandwich which was really nice, so if that sets the standard for the food they serve it’s definitely worth grabbing a bite if you’re passing by.

on a saturday night in the middle of a local music festival, this is the PERFECT people watching spot. I had such a good time, the variety of people here was incredible. The vibes are excellent, very busy, very local. As I said I was here when there was a local music festival on(there is a huge music community in Acton, so these local things are good and well worth checking out) so it was really busy and did have an amazing vibe, so it may have been a one off, but I have a feeling that every Saturday night is probably just as fun here. Thanks Acton for showing a South London gal a good time.

The food here is brilliant, although it could do with a better atmosphere at times. Maybe some music playing would help.

Let me start by saying this is my local and as such I may be slightly bias. I love this pub, the staff are friendly, the food is always great, and it has great relaxed atmosphere. It has some character to it, so don’t expect gastro pub furnishings. Enjoyable sitting on the chairs outside in the summer or finding a nice couch inside in the winter. Its nice to make use of the restaurant, although they serve the same food as the bar except you get table service. Drinks are reasonably priced, they do comedy nights about once a month and on occasion show sports/events on the big screen projecter(Rugby, Wimbledon, royal wedding etc). Great little local pub not on the main high street. You’ll catch me there a few times a week.

Lovely for lunching with work colleagues. Sounds odd, but the efficient service we had on the 20th May meant that all 10 of us(we didn’t arrive all at once, either) finished in record time, and sloped back to the office muttering about having work to do! Just not on for a Friday afternoon. We don’t normally have that problem with the pub across the road, as the food takes longer to arrive, giving everyone a chance to shoot the breeze and chat. That said, I thoroughly enjoyed my chicken breast burger and chunky chips; I’ll probably be sampling the fishcake next time as I hear good things(through mouthfuls) about how good it was.

Nicest pub in acton. Friendly, tolerant staff, lovely grub… could do with a bit more of an atmosphere though. but can’t complain too much — it’s within staggering distance of my doorstep.

We love the Rocket — the local gastro-pub: good wine and food — the double baked cheese soufflé is the perfect starter. Roasts a bit mixed. Lovely people — staff and clientele and really varied. Décor and people all welcoming. Sports events shown if they are HUGE — ie the world cup — but not all the time And a great room upstairs used for comedy nights, music, life-drawing classes, film clubs, poetry evenings and book club. Plus meetings and parties. A real community hub.

For Acton, this place is kewl. I like the ambience, the people and the drinks. You dont have the pretentiousness of london and it is kind of low key and laid back. They seemed to have an extended food section in the back. I did not get to try it out. Do check it out.

This pub is lovely! It has a very spacious feel to it and all the tables are wide and spread out nicely so you have lots of privacy and space to sit. There are two main rooms, the first one leads onto the second one and both are as nice. The food is really good and they have a very eclectic menu with lots of different things– mainly with a very continental feel like Spanish chorizo and Sardinian bread. It’s right next door to Acton Central train station so very easy to get to and it’s a stone’s throw away from Acton Park if you want to go for a stroll afterwards.
