Another wonderful pub experience. Not sure exactly which section of London we were in, but this pub around the corner was excellent. I had the Steak and Ale Pie, which was a great presentation, the pastry nice and flaky, plenty of chunks of beef, and a great sauce to accompany it. The grilled chicken sandwich with English Bacon and a yummy BBQ sauce was also outstanding. Plenty of beers and hard ciders, a cheery atmosphere, a great«last meal» in London.(and no, the airport breakfast the next day didn’t count – it was an absolutely typical airport meal – could have been most any airport meal in the western world)

Usual British fare… closing too early and serving warm beer and short cocktails. had a late night cheese platter which was nice enough along with some drinks. Were ushered out at a way too early hour but the ambiance was nice.

We enjoyed our dinner here. Great atmosphere. Just a few steps off Oxford Street!

Very friendly staff, nice range of beers, and decent music playing at a reasonable level throughout the day/night. Reasonably priced food cook well; think traditional pub food; roast on a Sunday, bangers and mash, and the rather epically sized«Cod-Father» fish & chips to name but a few. The chocolate fudge cake is to die for. I love to frequent this place whenever I’m in the area, mainly due to the friendly welcome by the staff, and manager. Heaters outside mean you can enjoy the bustling London nightlife just off Oxford street without freezing. Thoroughly recommend popping by for a pint(or two. Or three)!!! Ladies; great place to leave the man while you hit Selfridges etc!

Gosh I love this place, though I am pretty sure not everyone will. It is a well-known fact that to survive a 10-month London winter, one must have his indoor safe havens. This place always feels to me like Christmas at home. It’s cheery, strangely always a bit decorated for the holidays, always quite warm and the place just looks like a welcoming living room as you get more towards the back(not that big). Folks here tend to be pretty chill and bartenders usually have a bit of friendly bark to them(don’t worry — no bite). If you want to have a real quiet chat, the upstairs is usually nearly empty and pretty silent.

Great little pub that became my local after starting my first job in London. I now still return with old colleagues for drinks. Set just off Oxford Street, this pub benefits from a small area outside the front wear you can sit out in the summer. It isn’t big inside and there are only a few seats, but most of the times I’ve been it doesn’t tend to be overly crowded. I quite like the atmosphere and the prices are average for central london. They also sell bar food, but I haven’t eaten much here in the times I’ve visited.

Monopoly Pub Crawl — Stop #26 — Bond Street(Green) After 12 hours of crawling(or rather racing), we’ve finally reached the last pub — the Spread Eagle. It’s a little dark pub tucked away just off Oxford St near Bond St tube station. Despite being next to one of the busiest roads in London, it seems to be overlooked my most in the way Diagon Alley is. While not the largest pub, it’s more than sufficient to accommodate a group of crawlers looking for that last drink. It’s a nice place but nothing that I remember well enough to boast about. I’ll admit to being a bit tipsy, so that’s all I’ll say for now and promise to check it out more sober so I can update with some useful details. We piled in, got our pints, had the barman sign the board, and then surged outside to celebrate our victory over the crawl. Then it was off to Patty & Bun for a well deserved burger!

This is my local pub from work, located just off Oxford St within the pedestrianised area of Woodstock St. Therefore many good times have been spent, usually on a Friday night, chilling outside with buddies slagging off our own and our mates’ bosses. I am hence giving this venting venue 4 stars as it is such a precious part of my social arena. More objectively, the actual pub is probably worth a 3(its very small, smells like stale beer and the bar maids are all eastern european. There isnt much individuality here, or anything of any special note) but with such a central location everywhere is hittable from here, and makes an ideal warm up to your central london night out. Just dont go there when the weathers bad, as if you cant utilise the pedestrianised area, you will find it quite a squeeze inside!
