The TreeHouse

A gorgeous little place, in a lovely location. It’s more of a sit down pub/​restaurant but you can sit at the bar and have some drinks too. We went for Sunday dinner, the menu was lovely with so much to choose from, definitely more of an upmarket dining rather than pub food! Our starters were delicious! We had razor clams and squid with chorizo and some Devils on Horseback. When receiving the starters though the kitchen’s extractor fan had broken and they could not serve anymore hot food, and this is not the first time it has happened which wasn’t very pleasing! We had to find somewhere else to go after we had finished our starters.

An excellent restaurant/​Bar. The Treehouse has a really nice local vibe to it. The décor is enticing, it’s cosy and comfortably as well as being friendly. The outdoor space is situated front and back. The back garden has excellent heating and blankets and really pleasant to sit out on summer or winter. In the decked area there is a Marquee that shelters you on rainy days, also furnished with a heater. It is lit up by fairy lights and small lanterns, the garden is walled off protecting you from the wind. There is a large function room upstairs and a smaller one for around 10 people. The food is always excellent here and the manager Ettiene is always hospitable and helpful. We had a lovely closing dinner there last night. Thank you to all the management and staff for the good service. Average price dinner per head £22. I highly recommend it. By bus from Hammersmith209/​419 one after Barnes Bridge Station. By train from Waterloo to Barnes Bridge Station. 18 mins and a ten minute walk.

A beautiful place to sit down for a pint or a pimm’s on those rare sunny summer afternoons.
The prices are what you might expect to pay at an up market restaurant slash pub.
The atmosphere is fantastic and well worth visiting if you are in the area. I sadly can’t speak to the quality of food as my wife and I simply say down for drinks (hence the three stars).
That said I highly recommend checking this place out and experiencing it for yourself if you are in the area. For no other reason than to take in the atmosphere and beautiful setting.

While it may be more of a sit-​down restaurant, I still thoroughly enjoyed a couple of drinks here after dinner last night.
The winning element to the TreeHouse is atmosphere. Just down the road from the train tracks, they’ve made it adorable inside. From the quirky carved wooden tables and chairs, to the stringed fairy lights, to the conversation piece: a crazy mosaic section of wall above the fireplace. We found plastic swords, toy cars, water guns, a wizard (?), broken plates, and firetrucks. I’m sure in the daylight even more magical wonders would present themselves.
As is the case for most Barnes establishments, prices aren’t recession-​friendly. My large glass of house red cost £4.50 — but you’re paying for a comfy cosy little corner spot with quality drinks. I’ll be back for dinner, definitely.

If you are looking for a nice, friendly restaurant with atmosphere then The Treehouse delivers just that. I stumbled upon this place as a local a few years back and even now that I don’t live anywhere near it anymore, I would still make a point to visit whenever I am in Barnes. The staff are friendly and helpful, the wines are great and the food menu varied and unusual… and the banoffie pie is … totally orgasmic!
It really doesn’t matter what the occasion this place genuinely caters for all, although the general ambience would make this place a particularly good first date venue as after eating any of the variety of great dishes, you can stumble upstairs and continue your conversation in the comfy leather chairs whilst sitting under the romantic fairy lights with eclectic yet mellow music playing in the background. I would highly recommend this to anyone caught in two minds about where to go
