Great boozer. Been done up a little I think, certainly the exterior but a really nice pub inside with interesting layout. Very much an Arsenal pub too, which suits me fine. :)

This is one pub that I have been to quite a few times. I seem to have gotten lucky and have never been during a football match. The pub, like other reviewers have pointed out, is extremely close to Finsbury Park station, which makes it a convenient location. It’s quite a nice pub inside with lots of seating so even on Friday nights I have never struggled to find a table for my group. The interior is divided into two halves and on Friday evening there is live music on one side. One of my favourite parts about this pub is the wide selection of board games. I’ve come here with mates a few times for a round of chess or checkers! The food is above average for pub food. It’s not amazing, but after a few pints it will do and is better than Wetherspoons! There is a big selection of beer at good prices. It’s not super cheap, but it’s cheap enough that a good drinking session doesn’t hurt the wallet too badly! There are some extra perks that add to the experience like a foosball table, outdoor seating, and fire places that the staff will light if you ask nicely. The staff change over quite often, but in general are on par for service as far as pubs go. I’ve never had to wait super long for my drinks and some of them will even strike up a conversation. Overall, this is a great little pub and is one of my favourite’s in the area!

My almost local. This has a great location it’s just 3 mins walk from the Finsbury Park tube station. It’s really big inside and has limited outdoor seating, but it can still be a struggle to get a table, it’s a big sports pub especially football, they have several smaller screens and will pull a big screen down for the big matches. You can sit in the section devoid of screens but it still gets pretty loud so if you are thinking of a quiet drink somewhere I would check the football/rugby games in advance. The food is really good, the Chickpea, sweet corn and lentil Burger is really good, easily one the best pub veggie burgers I’ve ever had and the mac ‘n’ cheese croquettes are delicious if a little messy to share and probably the most calorific snack ever(I mean deep fried pasta and cheese how much better can it get?). They have a wide range of drinks although I tend to only drink the wine(we hold our regular book club there), but there is a good choice of wines, and draft and bottled beers and ciders. On a Friday they have live music in the left hand side of the bar, which is good fun if a little weird to be dancing in a pub at 10pm on Friday — or perhaps that’s just me and my friends after too much of the aforementioned wine. The staff are great if a little inattentive at the bar sometimes, I blame it a little on the ‘U shape’ of the bar, I think it can be hard to sometimes work out who was next and if you end up standing in the blind spot you can be waiting a while.

I’m super fond of the World’s End, as evidenced by the fact that when choosing a pub that’s near the station it’s always top of the list. It’s pretty enormous but can still be a bit of a rush for a table, particularly if the football is on. Because, yes, the World’s End really does love it’s sport. If that’s not your thing then avoid the lovely looking back room to the left as, as charming as it is, the giant screen does descend when the football start — which can ruin the ambiance somewhat if you’re not that interested. After a refurb a while back it’s a nice enough looking pub and the staff have also improved in recent months(gone are the long waits at the bar while you swear the staff are just hiding away). Very much a local boozer, but a good one, the World’s End does what it does well.

The World’s End is a large pub, run-of-the-mill in all respects other than two: it hosts local bands and, far more significantly, has an old-school table football. Indeed, on the night we swung by, the table football was unquestionably the biggest attraction for us. In the background the live band’s songs seemed endless, like Don McClean’s American Pie, save for a brief break where Holy Ghost’s remix of MGMT’s Of Moon, Monsters and Men provided welcome respite. To be fair, they got better as we were about to leave and it was free. Otherwise, not much to report. There were a couple of ales on tap, Doom Bar and one from St Edmund’s. Both well-kept and priced as usual at £4 a pint. The black paint on the walls made the pub darker than I would have preferred. All in all, nothing out of the ordinary, unless you like your table football.

Great atmosphere, huge pub and loads of stuff on. My band played here recently we had a great night, and the pub was open amazingly late! Loads of regulars as well as newbies, and a fun evening out for all concerned!

The food was good, the music was fair, and most importantly, they have board games. They’re tucked away, so you pretty much have to ask, but I do love a pub with board games. 4 hours into monopoly I was cursing my friends for getting me into the whole thing, of course, but that’s not the pub’s fault. All in all, a fine place to spend a Sunday afternoon.

The pub is fine, the venue is big enough for bands to play not annoying the ones not really into the music night. Food is not the best you can find at least in my only experience with that, drinks are fine in general. Fair place to go, not my fav though.

This pub most people find when wandering from Finsbury Park to Crouch End — it has a large interior space, with large bar too. It’s a stalwart — been around for ages, does a perfectly good job of being a pub, that serves some reasonable food. Not too cheap, not too pricey. As Matt states there is a healthy live music scene, and the range of bands is interesting. Personally, I go to the Faltering Fullback when in the area. The World’s End is absolutely fine, just that there’s better a couple of mins away.

Huge pub that is somehow capable of showing football and holding a music evening at the same time, on a weekend night. I was impressed and large modern pubs like this don’t often impress me. Has a lot of screens, including a big pull down screen. Unfortunately the big screen can only be viewed from about 10% of the pub though. The bar has a couple of ales and their range of tap lagers is more interesting than I’ve seen in a regular pub(Bitburger, I see from time to time but Birra Morretti I had never seen in a pub before). I didn’t try the food but it smelt oh so nice!

So chain pubs aren’t really my thing, but this one has a few positive points that make it worth a visit. The Finsbury Park area seems to be devoid of decent pubs, so the options are limited anyway. The bar has all the standard beers, wines and spirits, and the décor is typical of a chain pub. The thing that I like about it is the live music. Every Saturday and Sunday, there is a showcase of music presented by ‘Broken Toy Music’. There is usually four or five acts on a night, and the bands are put together really well. My only bad experience was when my band played there. Our set coincided with the second half of an exciting football match. I though people where cheering us at first, turns out they weren’t…

Although this bar is no match for The World’s End in Camden, it has it’s own appeal. It’s a nice bar to pop into after work, and is generally quite buzzing in the evenings. The bar offers a decent bar menu, and a wide range of beers. They also have bands here on a regular basis. The customer base tends to be mixed and friendly, and doesn’t feel like too much of a locals bar.

I actually used to work here before I moved house and still think its a great pub for a night out. It has been recently refurbished, so the décor is quite bar-like, but is packed with flat screens, so you won’t miss the latest footie game. They have open mic nights on Mondays that are a laugh and jazz on a Sunday, plus they do a pretty mean sunday roast, which is definitely worth a try. Beer is average and the staff are always friendly.

This pub is great for people who want to surf for free in the pub they are in. In the worlds end you can have a tasty meal in a very nice decorated pub. For a great night out they have live music and a range of tasty beers and drinks.
