Toni & Guy

Located below chaotic Toni & Guy is a small business known as Star Nails & Beauty. They have two treatment rooms and do a few basic treatments, nails, Thai massage, threading, and probably a host of other small services which I’m not aware of.
I’ve visited Star Nails & Beauty half-​a-​dozen times for eyebrow threading. I have not had any other treatments. Service is great — all of my visits have been walk-​ins which is sort of a pain because you have to ask Toni & Guy’s reception to run downstairs and see if someone from Star Nails & Beauty is available. It is what it is.
Eyebrow threading will run you £12 + tip (or not, I never know the rules for tipping beauty treatments in this country). This is a high price considering you can have your eyebrows threaded at South Beach (Turnham Green end of Chiswick High Road) and also considering it only takes about five minutes to have your eyebrows threaded. Comparing South Beach to Star Nails & Beauty, the eyebrow threading quality at Star Nails & Beauty is far superior than South Beach. A simple «you get what you pay for» sums up the comparison.
Finally, Star Nails & Beauty has a punch card — six treatments (of any kind, I believe) and you get a free express manicure (must be booked in advance).

My usual haunt for getting my hair cut. Variable price, bordering on expensive at times, though you are pretty sure to know what you get at Toni & Guy’s.
