Great brunch options. Can have a wait but it usually goes really fast. The chili chorizo eggs was REALLY delicious, but spicy, so you have to be able to handle the heat. Excellent lattes as wrll

The Reuben sandwich here is definitely in my top 5 sandwiches in London. They make their own pastrami in house and it’s served in lovely toasted rye bread with sauerkraut and Swiss cheese with a pickle on the side. The taste is perfectly balanced and it’s so juicy. The salads and quiches here are also great. I haven’t tried the breakfasts yet but they look amazing, especially the avocado on sourdough. The coffee and cakes are also really good. The setting is nice despite being on a busy road — the tables are all out at the back with a glass back wall that opens out to a little courtyard. Also good for takeaway.

The word is out about this place – it was absolutely packed on a Sunday at 12pm. So much so that the kitchen was backed up for 30 minutes which was announced to us when we queued up for a table. Was it worth the wait? Not so sure. Brunch options were slightly limited(I really wanted a salad) and my grilled cheese came with no side. Menu and service needs to be rethought, but the space is awesome.

Visiting from the USA and was hungry. Took a chance on Trade and happy I did. Very friendly service. I had the pulled pork and slaw and a cup of black coffee. Looking forward to breakfast there next time.

Used to be a regular a while ago and the place was fantastic with amazing staff. Came back today to check it out and it’s gone a bit under in terms of service. Food is still great, but to wait almost 15 min for 2 coffees it is a bit absurd(place wasn’t even that busy compared to before). Surely i’ll comeback again and hopefully update my review :-)

So cute! Visiting from the US, I wandered into Trade allured by their«Secret Garden» sign. I enjoyed a latte in the garden in the back, and it was wonderful. Great ambiance. Friendly staff. Delicious drinks. I wish I would’ve discovered it sooner!

WHAT, I live so close, cant believe Ive never been here for the last 8 months! I have definitely been missing out. As an avid grilled cheese fan, Trade definitely got me at chorizo AND egg toastie. Be warned though, that combination is definitely a little oily. They also have smashed avocado on sourdough bread and pancakes — just the way to my heart. The café wasnt very busy for sat brunch, they definitely have a good amount of seating in the back. Dont let the narrow entrance fool you. They also have patio area if you want to get some vitamin D. I will definitely be coming back here more regularly!

Nettes Ambiente und auch einen kleinen«Garten» hinter dem Haus — nicht gerade so grün wie er sein könnte aber immerhin im Freien. Das Frühstück war wirklich gut und das Personal sehr bemüht.

For a change of pace and if graving some Maine Lobster. Really nice garden space not expected from the front view. The deserts are sinful! The coffee was very decent so next time heading in to sample their breakfast

This is a fantastic place to come for Brunch or lunch. All the food I’ve had is always really homely and indulgent. Their cakes, sandwiches and snacks are great too. It’s just a shame they’re not open in the evening. I recommend the chilli jam cheese toastie.

Well, after a visit to this well reviewed spot, there’s no argument as to why I’d add a five star review to it’s impressive pile! The style of this place is great(amazing copper piping light fixtures around the ceilings, beautiful pastry spread up front), the food was impressively good(taking standard breakfast classics and upping their game a bit), the coffee was good, and the garden oasis out back provides a night haven from the bustling city at it’s doorstep. In fact I’m having a hard time convincing myself to get out and try somewhere new for breakky this morning. Thank you for rocking, Trade!(See you in ten minutes!)

Following Unilocal led us to Trade for a brunch with our boy who lives just round the corner. Thanks Unilocalers… what a great venue. Coffee was spot on and brunch really hit the spot. The combination of scrambled eggs and smashed avocado was grand and the pastrami eggs benedict simply vanished off the boy’s plate! It was busy. It was a tad noisy to have a mother-son catch-up conversation but it was top notch. Thanks Trade. Looking forward to our next visit…

This place is like a hole in the wall in one of the not-so-well-developed areas off Whitechapel Road. It would be difficult to notice it if one were walking past. But the inside of the café tells a different story. The aroma that greets you once inside is very enticing. The décor is modern and minimalistic, with ample use of wooden benches which are crammed into every which corner of the smallish seating area. This does make life a bit difficult if you are here to spend some time. The food is great though and very american. The pastrami could have been better, but the pancakes were excellent. The latter could be improved by serving it with melted butter and more syrup! The menu is quite well thought out, and I would love to try out the rest of it in subsequent visits. Oh, and I liked the latte in the tumbler, it was a nice touch, and reminded me of how I used to drink tea/coffee back home in India.

Brilliant brilliant brilliant. Key things: — Lovely«space» with both indoor and outdoor seating out the back — Great coffee where they«know what they’re doing» coffee wise — Chorizo offered with the egg dishes. Yum. — They have their own smokery! — There’s an Aussie vibe about the place(as in — the outstanding and creative Aussie brekkies you get in various spots around Oz) I’ll be back.

Trade is my favourite breakfast spot. It’s got practically everything you need in for a good lazy weekend breakfast. First up, the food. Trade offers up the usual kind of breakfast food you might find in other diners in the area such as pancakes and egg dishes and all that sorts of things, but what they also offer are incredible lobster rolls, smashed avocado on sourdough bread and delicious, delicious pastrami sandwiches, probably the best in London, according to those in the know. Next, the space. Trade is open and airy, and even has a secret garden, great for those all-too-rare warm London days. It’s not too cramped, and there’s a nice communal table at the back as well. The café offers free wifi and there’s lemon-infused(depending on when it was last refilled) water as well. And, best of all, they have newspapers which anyone can read through. I don’t know about you, but that’s my key ingredient for a lazy breakfast. They also do photo exhibitions in here. The first time I went in, they had an exhibition featuring various curry chefs on Brick Lane. I really liked the East End communal spirit this invoked. Next, the drinks. I’m not a big fan of the coffee here as there are others in the area which do better flat whites, but, at the very least, it’s tolerable. I tend to stick to tea when I am in here for that reason, but, that said, they have fresh mint tea, so that’s all fine with me. Last, the staff. The staff have always been very friendly each time I’ve been in, and they have also been patient when we have been taking our time in terms of figuring out what it is we would like to have from their extensive menu. In my mind, Trade has been a very welcome addition to the neighbourhood indeed. Five stars.

OK fine, I can justify 4 stars no longer. Hi, my name is Sheera and I’m a smashed avo addict. Trade is perfection. It’s cozy. Offers free wifi. Has outdoor seating. Is not teeming with pretentiousness. The flat whites make my heart go pitter patter and I regularly have vivid dreams about the smashed avocado with feta and poached eggs on toast. My one complaints is that something about the table varnish and their cleaning products don’t mix and the effect is kind of sticky. Sticky like you need some effort to unstick your plate from the table but not the kind of sticky that’s going to rub off on your hands or laptop or whatever. They should fix that. Doesn’t matter… 6 stars for the smashed avo and minus one for sticky tables.

This is a hidden gem in Shoreditch. Well, I say hidden, but it’s just a little bit down the road from the more crowded Spitalfields market. I was looking for another restaurant at the time and I was attracted by the delicious-looking spread of food I could spy on the counter. I popped in to have a closer look at the sandwiches and study the menu. Even leaving aside the counter food, there are plenty of tempting lunch options. I had the slow cooked pork and apple slaw which came on a toasted brioche bun. Delicious. It looked too hard to pick up and eat like a burger, so I improvised. I was eating the bun with my left hand and using my fork to shovel the rest of it, in between bites. I am quite keen to go back soon and try some of the other things. I might go for the pancakes next time.

First class coffee, accompanied by a range of amazing brunch/breakfast options– starting from the organic scrambled eggs, going through the fluffy blueberry American pancakes and reaching the freshly made cakes. Perfect spot to spend your Saturday morning or Sunday afternoon

To paraphrase the example Unilocal review; there are few times in life when a meal is so perfectly prepared with such a perfect combination of tastes that one is left in awe. The Reuben sandwich at Trade is one of those times. I can’t speak for anything else, but all the cakes, salads, coffees… Mmm. It all looks brilliant, and if the Reuben is anything to go by it will taste marvellous too. Do come, do. Have the Reuben. Have it a lot.
