omg. this place is amazing. walked in here by chance and so happy I did — from quirky gifts to celebrity prints to postcards and coasters to LITERALLY EVERY vintage magazine issue you can imagine; NME, melody maker, vogue, comics, etc etc, ranging from the 1940s to the early 2000s. delightful place. definitely a must visit for any pop culture vulture.

OMG, how I love this shop! I’ve been here a couple times and always find gems in there! I’ve purchased banksy stuff, an underground poster I had mounted and framed when I got home and my prized treasure… a vintage Metropolis movie poster that I am completely in love with.
Lots of kitschy stuff and some cool vintage stuff in the basement. All my banksy stuff (coffee mugs, coasters, and canvas bags) was a big hit back home.

This is one of the most unusual shops in London. Perfect if you want to get quirky browse or a quirky gift
As its name suggests, this is a shop selling vintage stuff but it doesn’t just stop at magazines. You’ll find posters, books, music, mugs and little gifts. The shop is a slightly messy treasure trove and you can lose yourself just browsing
Hehe I wonder if celebs will be upset to be included in here as it means they’re now vintage!

I reserve my fifth star for a spot that surprises me in a fantastic way. It doesn’t have to be anything in particular — just something I did not see coming.
I came across Vintage Magazine Shop by accident while wandering the neighbourhood. I thought it was strange, having a store selling only vintage magazines (since it was not only the name but seemingly the only things in the windows as well) but there’s a buyer for every item out there, so there it was.
I’m happy curiosity got the best of me and I wandered in, since this is a retro treasure-​trove. Books and posters and music and movie and coffee mugs and, of course, old magazines. It’s that perfect blast from the past that’s so much fun to go through.
Yes, a lot of it is campy or tacky, but that’s half the fun. It’s worth it just to stop in and even better if you find that perfect unique item as a gift (or for yourself) — wether or not it’s a magazine.

I’ve walked past this establishment several times, and judged the book by its cover. Firstly, I thought this was just… a vintage magazine shop.
But no, tis a wonderful emporium of mock vintage/​retro everything. Posters, t-​shirts, badges, stickers and yes, magazines.
The Mrs walked in, died and went to retro tack heaven. She spent a good half an hour browsing for a ‘present for her sister’ and came out with coasters and posters and tote bags… for herself.
I like this place because unlike everywhere else in London that sells this sort of eclectic mix of old posters and comedy tat, its just pricey… not extortionate.
But really it is slightly more original and has some good stuff, a big olé selection. Recommend taking a peek.

If you want your aspiring actress friend to get an Oscar, come to this shop and buy it for her! This place is a real gem for all film lovers. Apart from all the things mentioned below, what I really like, are the canvas begs not only with film heros but also such legends as Salvador Dali or Andy Warhol. Being situated in the heart of Soho, they obviously sell also a bit of souvenirs, like calenders and mugs with Banksy. You can also chose cool vintage ads reproductions for your kitchen with or without frame, as well as old theatre and film mini posters from around the world. The shop also has a good collection of silly gadgets (not necessarily film-​related) and what I’ve noticed today, they organize signing with some living English movie legends in the basement.

Stumbled upon this place while wandering in Soho — purely for shopping purposes — and had to go in. If you’re looking for posters or magazines from the past — films, music, adverts, whatever — this place is a must. I was looking for a birthday present for a Sixties-​obsessed parent, and this place was a goldmine. Posters on the ground floor, magazines etc in the basement, all very well preserved. the people there will happily let you have a good look through the stock and are happy to help with any questions. I came out with a bagful of good stuff. They have a website as well, which is well set out, if you can’t get to the shop.

The Vintage Magazine Shop is like a trip down memory lane. Not only has the shop been there for years! but it is filled with vintage magazines, comics, posters, cards and T-​shirts, which will bring back so many memories. It’s nearly all retro, although they do posters for new movies and music as well. There are 1000s of magazines in the basement and you can browse for hours, or until your friends drag you out!

Talk about a walk down memory lane when you enter the Vin Mag shop in Soho. We actually stumbled across the shop on the corner whilst exploring Soho. There was a lot of activity inside, people browsing through old magazine covers and newspaper covers. They even had giant posters of old movies so I can only imagine that a serious collector will love this place.
Go downstairs and browse around magazine covers from the 1950’s to the present. it’s unreal to see all of that and amazing to see how far we have come over the years. The staff is quite friendly, they do not harass you around every aisle and let you get on with it.

An Aladdin cave of memorabilia and kitsch. Very good place to get unusual gift ideas such as Posters, prints, photos, life size cut outs. In the basement there is a wide range of back issues of magazines for sale.

A fun shop for a fun browse. Including all the, t-​shirts, mags, and other bits and bobs that this shop sells, my favourite must be the film posters.
As a film lover of all films, and especially old ones, it is always great for me to know where to find a good old classic original poster.
This particular shop includes film posters from titles such as Vertigo, the Goonies, Blow Up, Dracula and many more. Each posters will only set you back by 10 quid, so it’s a good deal.
Located in the midst of Soho’s risqué streets, this is definitely an original and worthy shop. It offers great ideas for presents as well.

You will always find something in here that will make you smile, because its funny, nostalgic or kinky. Real old Vogue and Playboy magazine editions make great gifts, for you designer friends or your deviant male friends. Movie lovers will have a blast with all their film paraphernalia posters, life size cut outs, key rings, mouse pads, calendars, original movie memorabilia, t-​shirts and autographs.
Music lovers will adore the collection of posters, and anything related to bands and famous rock & roll legends. Got from there a Buena Vista Social Club Poster released in france for £15 in it looks incredible in my living room wall.
And one the funniest key chains I have seen in a while, a photograph of a 1970’s couple driving a cadillac and Jesus pointing the direction towards life, with a wooden sing on the back that ‘life’ right hand pointing arrow, and ‘death’ with a left hand pointing arrow. How many connotations can you read from that? Bought for my husband for £2.99 and he loved it!
Also check out the small but relevant selection of books hey have, at the moment on sale for about £5 each.

I dig shops with attitude, and those that do it just a little different. On both of these counts, the Vintage Magazine Shop should be a favourite. Truth is, after countless lunchtime visits, I haven’t ever bought anything from here save a few postcards. Yet I keep coming back. That’s because this is browser’s heaven. Pappy but fun movie paraphenalia gives way to giant vintage advertising frames and then to life-​size movie star cardboard cut-​outs. This is kitsch on a whole new level. There is always something new to find and smirk upon. Having checked out their website, I now know you can order issues of ancient magazines too — another string to the bow.

I love the Vintage Magazine Shop. It stocks so many great little bits and bobs that you can’t help but leave having bought a little something. With everything from t-​shirts, to vintage magazines (who would’ve thought?!) to penis-​shaped pens, it really has something for everyone!
Head down for some great gift ideas, or just for your own amusement, it’s super fun and quirky.

This popular store in Soho is a great place to find unusual gifts or cards, mainly focusing on images from popular films or tv series.
Alongside a wide range of photo’s they also sell life-​size cut-​outs of certain characters, my friend has ‘Angel’ living with her and she is very happy about that, strange toys and signed memorabelia.
Certainly a shop for something different or for those struggling for ideas.

Vin Mag is really hip. They sell funny and profane gift items, pictures of old screen queens (queens meaning both sexes, hello) vintage style t-​shirts and have a lower level filled with old magazines dating back to the early 20^th century.
I like Kate Bush a lot. A lot. Since I was 14. I found a vintage 1982 magazine in this shop with Kate on it right when she did The Dreaming, one of my fav records of all time.
The magazines are grouped by year so if you have a favourite artist and you know when they were in Melody Maker, you may just find it. You can also place an order for a specific edition.
You’ll want to take your time in this store and pick out an inexpensive photo of your favourite actor/​actress. They actually had one of Tallulah. Ace.
