Great club but… The pool while archetecturally very pretty is packed with people who never want to get their hair wet so if you splash them they get upset. There are swimming lessons which uses up one of the lanes so if you are serious about your swim workout as I am– good luck…
At 100£ to join and 135£ a month there may be a better deal elsewhere…

Great environment, good staff, very clean and lovely
But if you are using this for the gym (and why else would you be using a gym?)
then you will suffer from the invasion of Technogym machines and equipment, which from a fitness instructor’s point of view have to be the worse machines Ive come across.
I would have thought that for a high end gym we would have better equipment.
The staff agree and say its because virgin and technogym are in a contract and we get technogym machines for cheap
This is really disappointing, doesnt justify the monthly fee for anyone who wants a serious workout

I’ve been a member for years now, it’s changed from Holmes Place to Virgin Active in that time. But the quality has just got better and better; the overall feel is of a high end gym without being too pretentious. The equipment is always the most recent and the classes always updated to keep inline with the trends. Not only does the gym have a great feel, there is a beautiful gym and jacuzzi to compliment the open airy feel.
In comparison to other gyms in the area, including Equinox this is easily the best and offers good value for money.
If you’re looking for a new gym I would highly recommend Virgin Active Kensington

I’ve been coming here since Feb 2012 and I absolutely love it!
The locker room is clean, they provide toiletries, towels and bathrobes, all to a high standard!
The exercise machines are brand new and all the equipment in the studios is very good.
The classes I’ve attended are all great, with friendly and attentive instructors. The staff are brilliant, very helpful!
There is a also a café with wifi, a flat screen and some couches. Nice to hang out after your workout and watch football!
