Waffle Palace

A pleasant spot to grab a sweet bite. A waffle with chocolate and a warm coffee made a great mid-​day snack. Service was pleasant and attentive.

With only 4 waffle maker machines, my family of 11 had finished their breakfast while I was the last one waiting for my order to come. A waitress was very angry when I asked if my order had been forgotten. Was not cooked

The shop advertises crepes, but we could not buy one. My Daughter ordered a waffle with white chocolate instead (to take away). That was the worst waffle she ever had. It was reheated and not freshly made, a huge disappointment.

Passed this palce and got all excited as there aren’t many places in Manchester that do this kinda thing. So I pleaded with friends to go and go we did.
Sat down and the waitress came over, gave us the menu. It’s small, waffles maybe about ten, not really deserving of the name ‘palace.’ The rest of the menu was strange, hotdogs, salads, sandwiches along with milkshakes and smoothies.
So we each picked a waffle, toffee, caramel, banoffee. waitress came back and my friend saif ‘toffee please.’ She looked at my friend and shook her head with a smirk ‘No, no toffee, we don’t have any.’ My friend then looked back at the menu, quickly picking something else, ‘Is anything else off the menu?’ my friend asked. ‘No, just toffee.’ Was the reply. So my friend then ordered maple syrup.
My turn, banoffee. but was then again told, ‘No, no banoffee.“
‘Ok then, caramel.
No, no caramel.‘
O.O
But she’d JUST said that only toffee was off the menu and the whole time she stood there with this smug smirk! Rude!
So we up and left, awful place will never go back. If the food sucks as bad as the service, it was a near miss for us.

Tucked in between Chinese restaurants and tourist shops is this place. A Turkish owned café selling waffles. Don’t expect authentic waffles, but do expect generous portions of cream and chocolate.
Recently, after eating in the area we’ve been gravitating to this place. It’s a good place to end a meal, and quite empty sometimes. This means they really don’t mind us taking our time (i.e. hours) as we help make the place look a little more full and popular.
