Popped by a few times en route to the RA for a quick meal. It’s mostly like any other Wasabi joints, though I’ve found it generally a bit more blasé than average. For instance, my tofu noodles were quite dry and tasteless which I’m sure isn’t necessarily the case at other Wasabi joints. I also found the staff a bit curt and dry — when you’re situated so close to other posh places, I thought you might want to step up your service game a bit. A good place for a quick, no-frills meal, but really nothing more or less.

I love me some sushi and so Wasabi makes my life happier. Its an easy, cheap and fast way to grab a sushi bite. This one is a bit small but great from a jump in and out. I ran in and grab a mochi, one of the dessert items which is pounded rice dough which has a bean paste inside! i love the red bean ones!

Fast food sushi?!? Not a bad idea, even great if you can make it work. However, if you´re expecting QUALITYFRESH stuff here, methinks NOT! At least not from THIS Wasabi. Their entire menu is prepared at a different site and the food is subsequently transported to this eatery in Coleman like ice chests. So, besides the obvious LACK of freshness, the other unfortunate thing is, when they’re out of a certain item, nothing can be prepared to restock what´s out. The menu is basically to let you know what could be possible, not available. There are no cooks on site, just servers. Wasn´t even offered any samples of the hot foods they were serving. Looking for sustenance while running around London, this California Lad was hoping for something decent… *SEAREDSALMONSUSHIBOX: How long has this been sitting here!!! Cold rice with sushi sticking to the rice. Sashimi pieces were definitely not«melt in your mouth» quality, somewhat chewy at that. California Rolls were probably the best thing in the box, and that’s not saying much. CHICKENYAKISOBA: Gotta be THE worst YAKISOBA I’ve ever paid for!!! Stale dry noodles and overcooked chicken with no taste. Bloody Hell! Can they really get away with selling this?!? *SWEETCHILITOFU: Sweet and spicy? Check. Old and Chewy? Check. Actually gives an ample serving of white rice in a fairly large container but is it worth getting again? No. *SURIMICRABMEATGUNKAN: My little man isn’t too picky and he actually enjoyed this. I thought it was too creamy. Nice looking eatery with some foot traffic to indicate there is an interest to what’s being sold here. I’m not sure why though, must be naïve like I was and tempted by the yummy lookin’ pics on the sidewalk sign. English hospitality is lacking as well. Even asked me to stop taking pictures. In this highly visited area of London with many food choices, right now it’s better to cure those hunger pangs elsewhere, at spots that actually prepare their food on site, or at least maintain some quality to what they’re selling.

Probably the smallest Wasabi I’ve ever seen; basically no seats and train stations even have bigger places… of course it is catering almost exclusively to the Piccadilly area’s «grab food, eat at my desk» customers, but even then it is still too small. Too small, for example, for queueing. Unless of course you want to get in the way of people trying to grab food from the cabinets. Too small for those cabinets to have the better choice you find in a bigger store. The attempt to have 2 queues; one for hot food and one for sushi; doesn’t work because it is neither labelled nor enforced. All of the effort for wasabi which is not the best food you’ll ever have, but is at least convenient for the area and reasonably priced sushi.

LOVE this restaurant! I would find myself in this particular branch, during my lunch hour when I worked in Mayfair. The hot food items tempt you from the pavement with dishes such as sweet and sour chicken displayed next to the window. The sushi is good value e. g two items for £1 and I would quite often find myself going overboard in this area! They have a special offer on Tuesdays whereby if your online order totals £30 or more you get 30% off! The food is freshly prepared every morning and they offer a delivery service — just take a look at the variety of food sets online. The sushi, snacks and box sets certainly offer a healthy alternative.

Came back again, and I still realllyyyy like it. Try their seaweed salad triangle — delicious. Also the small individually packed ones are great too. Yum: D

The hot food smells great and even tastes good for perhaps a couple of mouthfuls but I have now tried a couple of dishes and they both were over-greasy and left me feeling a little queasy. My advice? Stick to the sushi!

Has the look and feel of a sandwich shop like Pret, but instead of sandwiches, its Sushi thats on the shelves Prices are good — each piece of sushi is individually wrapped(or in pairs if rolls) and the price is generally about £ 1 for 2 Selection is good with Snapper and Octopus being noted among the Salmon and Tuna, there was more but I cant really remember. They also do hot food — the usual suspects were there, Teriyaki etc which are served with rice and are about £ 3.50 I went for a pre-prepared sushi selection for £ 6 — although this went up to £ 6.20 by the time I added a sachet of Soy, Wasabi and 2 of Gari — 5p each is not too bad, would get 2 Soy next time though. Chop Sticks are provided, as are little plastic pots to put your Soy/Wasabi/Gari into — I recall 2 pots The pre-prepared selections are not put together to a recipe, ie the contents vary in composition — so browse and choose the one that has what you like in it, or browse to avoid what you dont want.

This Wasabi branch is unfortunately almost exactly opposite the Japan Centre which does fully authentic and great value sushi, however, it still does a decent bit of business. The sushi itself is ok. What I find really annoying is that you have to pay extra for wasabi and soy sauce! Outrageous. The hot food is terrific value though. You get a huge pot(like the size of a popcorn bucket) filled with rice and whatever you choose(I had chicken teriyaki — pretty good) and they heat it up. It costs about £4.50 but was so big it was enough to fill two of us up. Edamame beans are good too.
