I arrived at the hotel. Receptionist: «Do you have this?» She showed me a booking confirmation. «No.» “Do you have this?” «No.» “Do you have this?“ After the third time she finally understood that I wasn’t able to magically have it appear. Then she handed me a form to fill out, which I did. One minute later she came back. «That’s for you to fill out.» She probably thought I didn’t know what to do with it. Then she noticed that the phone number wasn’t filled out. «Can you give us a phone number?» «No.» “We need your phone number.” «No.» “Can you just give us a phone number?” «No.» “Can you give us an e-mail address?” «No.» “We need a way to contact you in case of emergency.” «There won’t be one.» «Are you sure?» «Yes.» “Can you at least give us an e-mail address?” «No.» Never mind the fact that I don’t understand what good an e-mail address does in case of an emergency it is mind-blowing to me how she tried to bully me into giving them a phone number. Right afterwards I cut my stay short and told her I wanted to leave after one night instead of eight. I guess to this day she doesn’t understand why I wasn’t willing to stay at the hotel longer. Later she kept calling me «Mr. Arne» again and again, which is my first name. It eludes me how a person who has zero interpersonal skills and tries to bully a customer can be allowed to have contact to customers. Then the hotel. Its furniture is so old and run down you’d think they got everything second-hand. And my room had a shared bathroom, which wasn’t even mentioned anywhere. Mrs. Rude offered me an upgrade for 20GBP per night which I refused. I ended up not staying a single night there.

Fair rates(especially considering the last minute booking) for 8 of us(104£x2). Free breakfast, but a check-out around 10:30AM. Food/restaurants within walking distance, as well as a five minute walk to/from the overground Hornsey station for you to get to London easily. I don’t normally write reviews, but once I found out that we were supplied with primo toilet paper, I had to put in a good word somehow. Very kind host as well!
