This bakery has been here ever since I can remember and sell a nice selection of sweet and savoury pastries. A lady can usually be seen at the window making a fresh flat bread served with spinach and feta which is absolutely delicious. Not that much atmosphere to sit in but still a nice addition to Archway and it’s nice to support these small local stores.

All the lovely cakes and cookies are at mouth height on the counter with no covering so they all get breathed/sneezed on. I do not shop there for this reason.

I usually come here to buy their filled flat breads because they accompany my Greek Salad quite well. These flat breads come in different varieties: filled with spinach, filled with spinach and feta cheese, filled with potatoes, or plain. In fact, when you come early enough in the morning you can still witness a lady preparing these delicious flat breads… and that just smells amazingly! They also offer quite a decent selection of baklava, which I usually can’t resist buying on or two pieces… after all, if you’re already planning to have a Mediterranean-themed meal, you might as well round it up with some sugary desserts!

This is an amazing bakery! They sell the most wonderful baklava among other things. I have been to top middle-eastern restaurants, and haven’t come across such good baklava as here! They sell other things too, but being a loverof baklava I have only sampled this delicacy here, although I have been told that they are just as amzing!

Hooray! This place is stunning. On a dark, cold night I chanced to pass this haven from the horrors of Holloway — a Turkish bakery cosy, warm, and selling not only the traditional baclavas but also strange and wonderful cakes, sesame pastries, pretzel-like things, and there is even seating for teas. The staff are lovely and friendly and the cakes and bread most deliciously affordable. Over the road and downhill from Archway tube.

I’ve been into so many cafes recently, with only minor variations, that they are starting to blur into one a little. Nevertheless, some do stand out. Well, this one’s a bakery for a start. A long counter runs the length of the shop from front to back, filled with an array of goodies. Breads, savouries and towards the back biscuits and cakes. I didn’t get to sample the sweets on offer. A lot of them seem to appeal to the eye perhaps more than refined tastes: decorated meringues and that kind of thing. Go in there with a kid and there’s no way you are going to go out with your wallet intact. Instead I got to sample a speciality of theirs: a type of flatbread with a stuffing of my choice. I choose a mix of feta and spinach, but mince and potatoes were also on offer. It was very tasty and filling, I’d go back for another. Also freshly made: a couple of ladies sit by round platforms in the window of the shop making them to order! They have tables near the back of the shop where you can enjoy food and a drink(nice hot chocolate). There are loos, though they are not the best. The staff are friendly. Café standard, but a little different.
