I was in Camden for the afternoon and I decided to go to Yumchaa only because I read a Unilocal review about the amazing Matcha soy latte. What a disappointment ! I know matcha latte are never the same(depending on how much powder you put and everything) but this one was really bad, not smooth at all. I saw the difference on the picture(on the Unilocal review it was a light green, mine was so dark) I guess if you like it strong, you can go for it. But I paid 3,55£ for a drink in which I had to put too much honey in it. Otherwise, the place is really nice, with a lot of natural light coming through the glass ceiling. Funny vintage chairs also ! They have wifi, but it was so slow I couldn’t even check-in.

Really cute café with good drinks and decent(but not top notch) baked goods. My favorite drink is the soy matcha latte. It’s very smooth and has the perfect consistency. Wifi is a bit slow, so I wouldn’t rely on it. And the chairs are really small and uncomfortable, and some are wobbly.

Well here I am sat in a tea room in camden. The last time I came here it was a pet shop where you could literally buy almost any pet, even the illegal type. But now it’s been turned into a trendy tea room for the last few years. To be honest maybe it’s because I’m in here during office hours but I can’t stand the loud«look at me, look at me» posh snobby people in here. The staff are very polite and friendly, music is good rolling out some Motown classics and the tea is very good. It’s a nice alternative to all of the coffee shops that have opened in the last couple of years. They sell a large array of different teas from all over the globe and a pot at £3 isn’t too shabby. The cakes look nice and I do love a cream tea which I will defiantly try next time. I would have given it *5 but for the wankers in here I’m afraid your score will suffer. However please note that the clientele doesn’t at all reflect on the staff the great!

The embodiment of a British tea house. For a Dane anyway… The place was furnished in shabby chic style, with wobbly tables and chair, fat chesterfields, with just the right amount of distress, small rugs scattered about and a counter overflowing with breads and cakes and bisquits and teas. I love how you get your own little individual teapot and realise this may be the norm in England, but it isn’t in Denmark. I could’ve at there for the better part of the afternoon, had we not been obligated to do all sorts of touristy things.

Whenever I pass this place it seems always busy. Now I see why! My favourite is Nutella & banana cake. It’s really good. They have a variety of cakes and teas. They also do some tea juices, mixing tea with juices. It’s a cosy place in the heart of Camden. Worth to visit!

Great selection of teas, coffees and cakes. Service is generally good although it can get a little busy during peak weekend times

Yumchaa, I’ve tried. I’ve tried to resist. But today, on this sugar-starved, chilly Thursday, you got me. I bought a piece of the Banana Nutella Cake. God, it’s good. Perfect banana moistness to it with a Nutella centre. Teamed with coffee, this equals café happiness. I’ve always found the Parkway Yumchaa a really laid-back environment to work in, relax in, and just generally find the zone — which is often elusive for me. I tend to go for a flat white, which is always good, but the tea selection is obviously superb, so I’d probably recommend that for proper tea aficionados. It also closes at 8 which is handy to know — late opening cafes in Camden are often not easily found… I want more cake.

Very nice place with plenty of space and sits, I found it very cosy and charming. I had a scone and a cup of tea, it was very good.

Lemon drizzle cake was really good and the chai latte was nice enough. Would come back and try other teas next time.

I stumbled upon this place last night when I was waiting for my dinner date. What drew me into this place was the warm cosy armchairs in the front windows, and the mismatched wooden furniture dotted around the shop. As I arrived at the counter, there were so many nice things to look at. The delicious homemade cakes, muffins and slices. The huge selection of teas. And the smiley staff behind the counter. I have a bit of a cold at the moment, so really wanted a nice lemon and honey tea. The guy behind the counter suggested Lemon Sherbet with added honey. I was sold. The tea came in a cute little teapot, with the cup underneath. The first thing I noticed was the strong aroma of lemon. It was truly divine. I added some lemon to my cup, let the tea sit for the recommend time(3−5mins), and enjoyed the atmosphere of the café. I love the communal feel of this place, there were people working on laptops, others sitting alone just watching the world go by. The tea was amazing, my only problem was there just wasn’t enough of it, haha but I do tend to drink my tea in half Litres: P All in all a great little café right in the heart of Camden. I will be back for more tea, and cake!

Awesome tea house — more teas than I know what to do with! Great décor with comfy couches(if you can get one before they all go) The teacups/teapots are pretty imaginative too. Tip: the shop front doesn’t look like a tea place. It goes under the name of «Palmers Pet Shop»

This is the place that sparked my Yum Chaa love, and it’s by far the nicest of the three branches I’ve visited. The recipe is simple: great tea, great cake, free wifi and assorted furniture. It works, and that’s why my friends and I keep going back to their branches. The tea selection is great, and the staff are very helpful and friendly. You can get a top-up of hot water to bulk out your tea(very well worth it), at which point you might also want to get another cake. The space can feel a little dark, but the back of the shop is helped by having a large skylight. The sofas are super-comfortable, but you need to be lucky or more quickly to bag one! The chairs vary in comfort, as everything is mixed up. I can see why there are a load of macbooks(and only macbooks…) parked here with their owners. Luckily, they don’t(or at least when I’ve been there they haven’t) crowded out people who have come for a brew and a natter with friends.

Absolutely wonderful tea spot in Camden town. Very hard to find as the title is actually the old store, palmers. We had to ask in order to find it even though we were standing across the street. Had a great selection of artisan teas and cakes. I took my kids to this low key place and had a great time.

Usually very crowded. Nice tea & cakes. Served with unwashed spoon or plate or cups several times. Maybe they are too busy…

I spent a LOT of time at Yumchaa when I was going to school in London. It was walking distance from the British American Drama Academy in Camden and essentially housed most of my studying, memorizing, and reading. Nothing is more cozy than their creaky, wooden floors and mismatch furniture. With a huge selection of teas equipped with adorable tea sets, you can’t help but feel special drinking there. They make a pretty dang good latte as well. I wish there was a Yumchaa in the states, but then I suppose that would take the charm away… I can’t wait to go back. I’m sure I will trip at the entrance where the ground is unlevel like always.

What a lovely tea! Nice stop during the week. I think, Yumchaa management could start thinking about refurbishment. Especially the sofas remember better times…

The best thing about Yumchaa is its personality and how reliable it is. It’s one of those places where you’d spend the whole day just chatting with a friend and no one tries to hurry you out. The teas are interesting(though their chai tea latte needs a bit more kick. Try the matcha latte!) and the sandwiches are pretty good(albeit a little overpriced) but where they really nail it is the vibe and service. It’s chill. And the décor’s great — I love the whole lived-in sort of shabby chic I-picked-this-up-from-a-skip-and-painted-it-could-you-tell thing they’ve got going on. And did you see the monkey wallpaper by the door? It’s pretty awesome. But what makes a real difference(especially at ‘trendy’ places like this) is that the staff are genuinely friendly. They don’t behave all too cool for school like those hipster coffee places. If you’re stumped by the variety of teas available, just ask! I once even arranged for a DHL delivery to be collected here and they were really nice about it(though really, please don’t do this! It isn’t allowed, haha).

This is one of my favorite places in all of London! As a study abroad student from America, I was looking forward to having tea in England – but high tea is so expensive! It’s lucky I came across Yumchaa, which is right down the block from my school. For just £2.55 you get your own individual pot of tea that makes about 2 cups! It’s really cute! An assortment of delicious scones, pastries, soups, and sandwiches rounds out the menu. They also have these bit picture windows where you can sit and watch all the people going to and from Camden Town, and squishy couches and chairs all around the shop. Gets a little crowded sometimes and hard to find seating if you’re with a bigger group, but it’s worth it! Favorites: Walk in the Woods and Wanderlust Nutella Bread Tomato Basil Soup Salami-cheese-basil panini(they only have it sometimes, but it was SO good!)

Yumchaa, Yumchaa let me count the ways. I’ve been drinking your lovely Earl Grey for days. White, red, green and black varieties of tea. So many to try, don’t know which one’s for me. The TeaRista’s are fab, know their stuff. If I admitted any Tea-ignorance they’d definitely call my bluff. Nice ambiance, shabby-chic but cozy, ooh! And locations in Camden Town, Camden Market, Goodge Street, Soho and perhaps another too. Now, let me tell you a story. In all my glory. I am a coffee chick through and through. But Yumchaa has a way, and it will seduce you. I bailed on flat whites, espresso, capps and frothy lattes. In favor of that fab hint-of-bergamot Blue Star Earl Grey. I suggest you take it with no milk or sugar, and extra strong. On a rainy London morning, you can never go wrong. Left my sexy, tall and gorg barista-crush at CoffeeHouseX in the lurch. So yumTea I could purch. I was jonesin’ hard on him, so it was tough to do. But if I can do it, then so can you. Plus, I thought it kind to give him a break. Of my intimidating benevolence, grace, charm and wit, only so much a man can take! Their baked goods are nice as well. Vanilla scones are particularly swell. They offer sweet and savoury(Feta etc) too. The choice entirely up to you. My favourite is the lemon cake, I’d recommend two. One slice for me, and another slice not for you. A lovely smell, an incredible taste. Sweet, moist, succulent, lemony so please, don’t let any go to waste. But a few suggestions for YumChaa, hence three stars. If they managed their queues better, they’d go far. Haste doesn’t always make waste. And it seems rude to ignore customers whilst they wait. «Speed it up!» as my dear mum used to say. And don’t forget a smile and«have a glorious day!» The last bit being optional of course. Overbearing perkiness is not something you’d want to enforce. It might scare customers away. Instead of making them want to stay. Dear Unilocaler, as an American, This is the only Tea Party I would ever attend, or pay an honourable mention. Right now I’m not craving suppa. So, I think I’ll make myself a cuppa.

Every had that feeling of enjoying a lazy Sunday and enjoy the sound of rain hitting the panel? If yes this is the place for you! What is so good about this place besides from the large selection of teas is the uniqueness, the décor and the atmosphere! all the furnitures are different, even the cups are different(that is taking it to the next level)! you can really sit here and chat with friends. There is a small selection of food, I haven’t tried the sandwiches, but they do look good! The cakes again looks like they are home made but to be fair they taste mediocre! But all in all this is definitely a rainy day hang out place!

Came here for a catch up. Nice place to do it. Dont feel pressured to order food. Just a nice pot of tea… ok fine and a brownie. I am amused by the modge podge second hand seating. Until you sit in an uncomfortable old dining chair and spill your tea on the wonky off kilter table. But no overall really a nice place to sit and chat or study. This time I had the tea called adventurous. yummy and reminded me of christmas.
