Naughty Aldo. Why must you have a sale on when I have just paid all my bills and should really be eating beans out of a tin rather than ignoring reality and eating at Tusk?
After searching for the correct pair of boots for around 4 months now, Aldo was a last resort. Usually I buy my shoes from a mixture of New Look, Primark, and ASOS. The last never fit, but you can’t ignore the sales. Aldo has always been off the list due to the price tag. Now, I am completely aware of quality = costing more but, hey, talk to me when I can afford quality goods. The all white interior of the Arndale branch of the shop could be offputting to some as it does appear as somewhere you might-​not-​be-​able-​to-​walk-​into-​without-​getting-​stared-​at-​by-​shop-​assistants. However, I was proved wrong. After browsing the sale rack I found THE PAIR of boots I had been searching for. The sales assistant offered to look for the other foot so I didn’t have to take them off (they’re over the knee boots people, those things are not easy to take off!) but, unfortunately, had to come back and steal it away from me. But then a few moments later I was handed my Aldo box and taken to the till. Then the box was transformed into its own carrier. This is the way forward for shoe shops. Then I was informed that there was even more money off the boots and they were only £55 reduced from £120. I was then on a complete high and gave into the sales pitch about leather protector, so sue me. I’ve barely taken them off and my other shoes are hardly getting a look in. Poor things.

Aldo as most of us know, is very near to high street and to me, I feel amazing inside an Aldo store! Agreed that the one in Arndale isn’t that huge, rather small, it still does house some amazing boots!
It has the perfect mix of sexy and classy coupled with comfort. They’re expensive no doubt, hence this is banned for me when the sale season is off! Other than that aspect, its quality and style bundled together. They bring you the latest fashion all over and keeps it nice and high.
I absolutely adore their suede boots, especially in the beige colour and I like to keep it high and comfortable. Now, that could be a difficult wish, but not in Aldo!
So when you think you’ve saved quite a bit and want to walk all over town with sexy feet, walk into an Aldo and get those boots which your legs have been secretly craving!

Thanks, Peep Show. Now there’s another thing I can never take seriously again, along with Hamlet, the guy who paints on TV (‘God’ in their world) and World of Warcraft… although they didn’t call it that, and to be fair, I’d never taken that seriously anyway.
Aldo was cemented in my brain as Mark Corrigan walked in to buy a pair of ‘brogues’ and met with a modest and unassuming shop girl who was filling in time before university. Ah, something I’m so familiar with. I immediately made the association between boring office shoe and Aldo, after all, our beloved Mark is not a character you’d associate with high fashion or individuality. However, having actually BEEN into an Aldo in search of some decent boots in the sale, I was pleasantly surprised.
The Arndale branch is perfect, as it’s a step up from the likes of Shoe Zone and some ‘questionable’ independents but not quite as full of itself as Office. I mean, come on, Aldo might be a boring name but it’s a heck of a lot more interesting than a name like Office. Who wants to go straight from the office… to Office? Plus, Aldo’s only one letter different than Aldi and we all know how much I love Aldi. Yes I wanted to do a heart emoticon, what of it?
I’m losing my train of thought. I was surprisingly impressed at the range available, and most of the sale prices reflected that of some of the Kurt Geiger house brands… you know, from £75 down to £59.98 or suchlike. I presumed I wouldn’t find anything quirky or unusual but more fool me, there was plenty for me to get my teeth into, from suede shoe boots decorated with zips (one for the BF there — not that he wears women’s shoes, he just has a thing for shoes with zips on them. On me, not him) to cosy pixie boots covered in buckles. The result was actually too much for me to choose from with too little time on my hands.
Thus… and I never thought I’d say this, really… I’ll have to pop into Aldo when I’ve got more time to do so. I know, who’d have thunk it? I’ve just got to get the image of Mark Corrigan saying, ‘Do a Columbo, do a Columbo!’ out of my head.

This is heaven for any ladies who love shoes and boots and handbags! They stock a range of gorgeous shoes and boots, prices range accordingly. If you like to look stylish, this is a great place to buy shoes and boots that are in fashion. They do also sell mens shoes! They stock a lovely selection of handbags aswell as jewellery and belts. This is my favourite shop in the arndale! Although the staff seem to pounce on you as soon as you walk in, they are very helpful and don’t try to rub your ego too much when they want to make a sale!
