Nice sandwiches when you fancy something slightly alternative. Situated in a busy part of the Arndale, they have a fair amount of seating though I’ve always taken my food out. On this visit I chose a Mexican chicken on poppy seed bagel. I really can’t fault the quality, it was absolutely heaving with children, avocado and jalapeños. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The meal deal is pretty reasonable. £5 buys any bagel, crisps or cookie and a drink. Hot drinks are an extra £1.

I like a good bagel now and then, and that’s one thing Bagel Nash supply. You can choose from a range of different bagel types, then choose your filling, and whether you want it standard or as a ‘melt’, or one of the specials mentioned on the menus. I went for an onion bagel with melted Swiss cheese and ham, and it was really tasty! Although the drinks are a touch on the pricy side(£1 for a can of Coke, £1.45 for a can of San Pelligrino Lemonade etc) but it’s in the Arndale in the city centre of Manchester, so it’s understandable), there’s a good selection, as well as other tasty treats like cakes and muffins, and a good range of hot drinks available, perfect for a breakfast bagel accompaniment. The venue is a small«inside» area where the ordering counter is and a few seats, and then outside the unit is an «outdoor patio» style area(still within the shopping centre building) where there are more tables and chairs, so there’s always somewhere to sit. After ordering, food is brought to your table by one of the friendly and down-to-earth staff, and as you enjoy your food, you can even take advantage of their free wifi. Perfect for breakfast or lunch, I go there pretty often, and will continue to do so :)

I’ve been a fan of Bagel Nash right from the start, so in my eyes, they can do no wrong. They offer cheap, easy, fast, simple food that fills a hole when you’re on the go. One cannot grumble about that. If you’ve skipped breakfast and require a quick fix on your way to work, I always find their thin rashers of crispy bacon in a poppy seed bagel(£3.75 if you eat in, £2.95 to take away) hits the spot. If I’m passing by on a busy lunch time, I’ll probably opt for something a bit more substantial, like the yummy crayfish and avocado bagel(£3.99 to eat in, £3.30 to take away) from the Deli range. Prices can ‘rocket’ if you add extras like salad(see what I did there?) but I tend to avoid leafy things in my bagel as I find the more filling you have, the harder it is to eat. I have ended up with bagel contents down my clothes on several occasions, so I now make a conscious effort not to over-stuff the bread. Look out for their Bagel of the Day promotions — enabling you to eat for just £1.99. There is also a loyalty card which gives you a free bagel when you’ve collected 10 stamps. Branches of Bagel Nash can usually be found in train stations or shopping centres and offer basic but pleasant enough areas to sit and eat if you decide you don’t want to tuck into your bagel elsewhere.

Bagels aren’t the be all and end all of fancy dining, but there’s something really satisfying about a well made bagel. Bagel Nash in the Arndale Centre, Manchester, isn’t fancy dining either, it’s in the middle of a busy shopping centre, but can give you that well made bagel! Two bagels with drinks cost a little over £10 but they were great! Soft, warm and with good quality ingredients. There are seating areas inside the store and out the front in a ‘café’ style. Inside there are comfy chairs and coffee tables, outside, regular tables and chairs. My personal recommendation is the Brie and Bacon(get it on jalapeño for a little kick) or keep it simple with the classic cream cheese. If you’re around in the morning and looking for a quick breakfast, they do a deal — bagel and choice of filling for just a pound(£1).

If you’re after something a bit different on your lunchbreak from the burgers, pasties and dull sandwiches on offer in the Arndale’s food court, Bagel Nash is a very welcome alternative. The menu was the real draw for me, while searching for something filling on my lunchbreak near the Arndale. There’s a good variety on offer, with far more interesting and healthy options than many sandwich bars(from smoked salmon to avocado in various combinations). The prices are good, too, with the more expensive end coming in at £3.50 for a well stuffed bagel featuring around three or four fillings. Given that this is placed in a shopping centre, the ambience is entirely lacking, but that’s more than made up for by friendly and fast staff and food that both fills you up and tastes surprisingly lovely. I’ve gone back more than once for another fill of the New Yorker bagel and a coffee too.

Had lunch here today. Went for the chicken club melt panini. It was ok but tasted just like the Ugo’s paninis u can get from supermarkets and put in microwave.

Bagel Nash, like GO next door, is one of the best places within the Arndale Centre to stop and refuel without having to cross over to the dark side and order a Big Mac. As with GO, the vast majority of food sold at Bagel Nash has been freshly prepared, and is a darn sight healthier than anything you will find at Subway or another big fast food chain. For one thing, the range of fillings/toppings and other edible decorations that are on offer here is much better than any mainstream chain, so ought to be well studied before making any choice on a meal! Admittedly, Bagel Nash is not the cheapest of places to eat, but you truly get what you pay for. One of my flatmates will not leave the Arndale without ordering one of the Chicken Bagels from Bagel Nash, and this is someone who, until starting University, never ate anywhere that had less than 1 Michelin star. OK, I exaggerate, but she does not slum it when it comes to food! If you are looking for a healthy, imaginative alternative to McDonalds or Pizza Hut, then Bagel Nash might well be what you are looking for. The venue itself is very well put together, with a good amount of seating available, so it can be used as a real pit stop during the mad afternoon of shopping. Definitely recommended.

Bagels. What’s not to love about them. Food with holes is great(Polo mints, doughnuts, Emmenthal cheese), and when I met my first bagel as a kid, a toasted cinnamon and raisin one, it took me a while to get my head around the fact that it wasn’t a doughnut but in fact more like a teacake, bun or fruit loaf. Hey, I’m British. Anyway, discovering savoury bagels was also key in my bagel-liking journey, and bagels make great sandwiches, hence the joy of Bagel Nash. You might not get a lot for the price, but the novelty of this place is the fact that you can get so many different kinds of bagel for your topping — seeded, sundried tomato, spinach and herbs, the works. There are even sweet ones you can have toasted as a snack like chocolate marble for example. The sandwiches offer great fillings… okay, I’m biased because you can get sundried tomatoes in the fillings too. And aubergines. In fact it can operate a little like Subway. They do make the thing in front of you, you get to choose your bread and any little extras. Another tip is that the smoothies here are particularly delicious. If you’re in need of a quick fix for lunch and fancy doing some people-watching, this Arndale location is the perfect place to go. Plus there’s something of a health incentive… bar the naughty breakfast ones a lot of the bagels are naturally low in fat, as are plenty of the fillings. Now there’s a little New Year’s Resolution for you.

I have to say, I haven’t had such a terrible experience in Bagel Nash. I’ve run in here and grabbed a quick Pastrami bagel sandwich from time to time when I’ve been rushed and I didn’t think it was half bad. The price is reasonable at £2.95 and the service was quick and friendly. However, the consistency isn’t great. On one occasion the bagel tasted fresh and was loaded with ingredients, on another occasion the bagel was not so fresh and was put together a little slapdash. But the range of bagels, in itself, is quite impressive, from Cheese and Jalapeño to Chocolate and Marble. I sometimes come in here to pick up bagels just to create my own smoked salmon sandwiches at home. They also do a good selection of breakfast bagels, muffins and smoothies. Whilst it’s good food on the go, it isn’t anything to write home about.

As you might of guessed this place only sells Bagels(oh and pretzels) the staple food of every diet. Although this place prides itself on being a healthy option I am not so convinced… cream cheese on bagel does not equate to a healthy option. Anyhow lots of options, lots of confusing choices and lots of carbs. Hang on sounds familiar… is this not just a twist on Subway?

Bagels and Pretzels are the only things you will get here! Bagel Nash pride themselves on being a healthy option of food, and of course they are fresh daily too. With the options of both sweet and savoury fillings such as traditonal cream cheese, breakfast fillings, smoked salmon and cream cheese with fresh fruits. My personal favourite is the ham and cheddar cheese filling — yum! You can choose from over 20 different flavours of bagel and then pick your filling. I realy think it is a great alternative if you are getting pretty bored of processed butties for your lunch!
