If Paul Weller is your style icon, chances are you already shop at Ben Sherman. A distinctive British label, it was started in Brighton in the mid sixties and became popular in the mid to late seventies when skinheads and mods started wearing their threads. This particular branch lacks the character and ambience of the brilliant Carnaby Street store but it’s still a great place to go if you’re looking for the ultimate mod outfit. Drainpipe jeans? Check Polo shirt with two buttons? Check Harrington jacket with classic check lining? Check Suede desert boots? Check Vinyl copy of The Jam’s In The City? Check Well watched copy of Quadrophenia? Ben sherman is great if you’re looking for the label i suppose, but other than that I would say that the products they sell are a bit middle of the road, and not fantastic quality. I could probably get the same shirt but better quality from the likes of river island and still have some change to put towards something else. Having said that, this shop is quite cool, and carries most of the new ben sherman range, so anyone out there who likes this range, then this is probably the shop for you to take a look around!
