Although I have not stayed in this hotel if the bar/spa and adjoining gym is anything to go by Castlefield Hotel is a hotel that I would not recommend for leisure visits.
The décor is tired, the gym looks like a leisure centre and the prices are far too high for what this place actually has to offer. Last week I went to get a spray tan done as the hotel ‘spa’ and I was taken to a dinky room behind some horrible changing rooms.
This hotel and gym is in dire need of a makeover and until then I’ll give them a miss.

The Castlefield Hotel is located on Liverpool Road, opposite the Museum of Science and Industry, close to the Deansgate Locks area of Manchester.
The hotel is medium sized and has a bar, restaurant and the use of the YHA swimming pool and gym.
The rooms are basic but nice with single, twin, double or family rooms available. They feature an en suite shower room, fridge, TV and coffee making facilities.
I stayed here with my guests for my wedding night and I found it to be clean, well run and ideally located. The best thing about it were the staff who were very helpful and always friendly.
