There’s lots of Fatsos sandwich shops in the North East but this one is ideally situated in Manchester, between Picadilly Gardens and Picadilly Station. This is a great value lunch with a sandwich, crisps and any drink for £3.49. Just the sandwich is £1.99, or grab a slice of toast to go from just 40p! The sandwiches are massive bursting with your chosen filling and and salad you like. Hold the sweetcorn! There’s also jacket potatoes with the same filings. On the other side is takeaway today dinners, giant hot dogs and other hot treats. The staff work really quick, but still with a smile, so b overall a great place to grab a butty to take back to work.. or to go sit in Picadilly Gardens with.

Ive been to fatso quiet a few time. I usually grab a coffee on my way to work or a sandwich fir lunch. The staff are always friendly and they usually remember my order which is great. Today i was passing by and they had an ice cream machine outside. As the wether was nice i treated me and my mum to one. We has a cone with vanilla ice cream, flake and a number of sauces yo choose from for the little price of £1. I was surprised and the quality o f ice cream was delicious. Well recommended when your passing.

Once again I feel a bit lame reviewing a chain.(Though in fairness, Fatso’s and I go way back, ever since the Hungry Jack’s near my sixth form college turned overnight into Fatso’s…) There’s a good selection of sandwiches, jacket potatoes, hot dinners and sausages all at reasonable prices. The sandwich, crisps and drink deal has recently edged over the £3 mark but I think it’s like £3.09 or something so I think I’ll live. The staff are nice and smiley but could stand to be a bit more helpful. Once I tried to order honey mustard chicken to be told there was none. I asked«what do you have?» and the woman behind the counter simply gestured at the nondescript, non-labelled filings and said«these». Hmm, thanks. Hot dogs/sausages are decent and pretty cheap. Nothing fancy but pretty satisfying. Though do not make the mistake of thinking that the mustard is sweet American-style stuff — it’s not, it’s English and therefore may blow your head off! Overall this is where you want to be for cheap, cheerful and quick.

Quick, good, fresh, cheap, varied. What else do you want for a lunchtime?

Had a carvers sandwich(chicken). It was about 5pm so late for«lunch». They had no stuffing but that was OK. Anyway, it was dry. It was on half a big ciabatta — similar to what you get a Katsouris. Maybe if I go at closer to the traditional lunch time, it won’t be so dry — and have more options. I have heard that the pork is the best and just having it as a carvery with gravy etc
