I know many users of this store have always come to happy and satisfied, but I was just met with misfortune and frustration with this store. I had purchased a new Rockband from here and much to my surprise it all happened to be redundant! I went back to return it and wanted my money back, but apparently the money back was only 7 days, which was pointed out to me when I came to return. Later, I spotted the notice in littel black ink in the deep corner of a wall. How convinient, I thought to myself! Nonetheless after an hour of argument, I did manage to walk out of the store with new pieces of the set. Now, one would think that my moment of triumph had arrived, but alas! I opened the pack at home at find the drum stand missing, without which the drums are useless! I was so flared up at the thought of going back to Arndale yet again! Their professional behaviour was very careless and uncalled for. Any customer would get highly annoyed with repeated trips to the same store for one darn thing that they have bought! Oh well, that was my sad story! If you’ve liked it here, you’re probably lucky!

The last time I came in here I got stuck for hours browsing through the Xbox section, as it is so difficult now to find a decent collection without trawling through eBay. Of course, the prices are higher, but then again you immediately get hold of your purchase which always feels good. You can also swap and sell and do all the usual actions you’d expect from an exchange. The prices of the newer products are not as cheap as you could get elsewhere, so I wouldn’t buy from here for those, but should you be in the mood for a bit of old school gaming and not know quite what to get then browsing through the shelves here can be fun.

So often, the Wii gets it wrong. Certain games are marketed that make use of the strange controls and active motions and you think, great, where can I get it? But on several occasions we’ve found ourselves disappointed with these games. My other half, a huge tennis fan, was desperately looking forward to the Wii’s Virtua Tennis offering and wound up nearly throwing the remote out of the window after purchasing it. The same happened most unfortunately with Sonic and Mario at the Olympic Games. I stand in the corner and tut, after all I purchased this Wii and so far we’ve had very few successes. Never fear, because the Arndale has Game Exchange. A new addition located next to Greggs(not that this particular move was strategic or anything, I’m not saying there’s a connection between gamers and meaty pastry goods), you can bring in unwanted games and sell them or part exchange them for something else. Here’s a success story for you. We brought in Virtua Tennis and got a fairly modest £7 off the new Mario game, but it’s been worth it, because our snowed in status means lots of Unilocaling for me and lots of boredom and guitar twiddling from the BF, so when he’s not exercising his instruments, ahem, I can hear Mario joyfully exclaiming various Italian stereotype phrases atop the back of the delightful Yoshi(I love Yoshi, every home should have one). The variety is excellent, they have games for all platforms and don’t let the heavy metal haircuts and tattoos of the staff put you off. Our server, something of a behemoth, waxed lyrical about the Mario game. Which was very endearing, considering what a cute little game it is. There’s even a retro section with games for old models of the Gameboy, the flop that was the Sony Dreamcast and the like. You can find anything and everything in here, and the staff immediately set you up a loyalty scheme which means you pay lower prices. Can’t argue with that now, can we? If second hand doesn’t bother you, Game Exchange is a treasure trove — if it does, it has new games too, so you can’t complain. Definitely something for everybody.

A little place deep in the depths of the wonder kind that is the Arndale Centre where you can buy and echange computers games. Sound familiar to a ton of other shops? Well you obviously aren’t looking close enough! Did you not notice the spelling was all westsiiiiiide an’ sheet muthafluffer?! Here you swap games in a much cooler and more street kind of way. Kind of ‘Playin’ Zelda in me mums ‘n dat, but keepin’ it real an’ right on time like. Bukka!”
