Moving to a new area can be a nightmare in terms of sorting out those last little bits like registering with a doctor and a dentist which often finds itself last behind mapping your local pub, supermarket and take away. Registering at Ian Hancock’s was simple and practically effortless. Walk in, fill in a quick form and make an appointment for when you want it(mine was within three days). They even send you a text to remind you, so don’t be cheeky and don’t turn up as they always remind you at these places of how many appointments were missed last month. The check up itself was thorough. I got a little suction thing around my mouth and my front teeth polished. I forgot what it felt like to be at a dentist, he definitely reminded me of the tools of the trade. I was told I had a few sensitive areas and was advised on how to tackle those buggers. Then I was given a free sample of colgate for sensitive teeth! For students, you can often try and get some money back for NHS charges and the lady behind reception kindly advised me how to go about it and give me an extra slip that I was supposed to post off too. A great little dentist, conveniently located on Oxford Road in one of the nicer looking buildings. Lucky for me I’m not due for another visit for two years. Success.
