Middleton News

With my last review for Middleton News being about a year ago now, and as I am a «duke» here (most ranked «regular» according to Unilocal!) I do feel another one is due.
I want to start by saying, the staff here are very nice, I have been coming to this newsagents for quite a few years now, and is one of the few places I am actually on first-​name terms with the staff.
Middleton News is a good size newsagents, but they is limited space due to queuing, which can often last down the shop, this is a negative as it means you can’t really look around unless you are moving down the queue, it seems they is 3 sort of isles, one for magazines and newspapers on the left, the other for more sweet/​snacks and drinks on the right, and they is one in the middle which basically stocks «no particular category», envelopes for example.
The newspaper selection here is normally good, with good quantities of different varieties of newspapers stocked here, including a few «local» papers.
The health lottery, as well as standard lottery can be bought here, and they was a recent winner of 10,000 (health lottery) who bought their ticket here.
The drink selection is good with quite a large fridge, which stretches down a good third of the store, the drinks stocked here are mainly from the same brand, with alot of Lucozade, Yazoo Milkshakes and «fizzy» drinks being available, and a lack of «iced» beverages like coffee and tea.
Even though this is a good newsagents with great staff, I still feel like a slight demotion is in order to 3 stars, but this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t visit anymore as it is one of the best newsagents in Middleton, despite the flaws mentioned.
