New Century

New Century is a family-​run Chinese takeaway located next to a barber shop, tanning beauty place, ultrasound centre, Chinese chippy, Bargain Booze and news agents, completing the odd but essential mix of stores on Davyhulme Road. I’ve been comforted many dark evenings by a cheeky takeaway from there. And although Silver Palace is closer, this one serves better food! All their main dishes come with rice or chips, or fried rice for an extra 50p. It’s totally worth it because they don’t skimp on size and you could feed yourself for less than a fiver! My other half really likes the fact they do a choice of duck and filet steak main dishes and some dim sum as not many small local Chinese places have these. And while you’re waiting, they have a TV and daily newspapers!
