On Bar

Went here with some friends over from back home… Looks ok from the outside but at the end of the day it’s just another Canal Street bar… and generally overpriced. probably to pay for all the refurbishments carried out from when it was Manto’s. I suppose the high prices keep the usual G.A.Y scum out

My first visit to this newly opened bar, and what a massive disappointment! I had such great high hopes for the place. I’d walked past a few weeks ago to see that they had ripped out almost everything of the old Manto’s and we’re rebuilding it all. However, it’s no better than the interior they ripped out, if anything it’s worse. The place is just soul-​less.
If a bar is really nothing special, what can make it a great bar is the customer service you receive. Unfortunately on this visit this area was also sadly lacking. One of the bar staff deliberately short changed my mate. Had she not realised instantly and challenged the barman, she would have ended up paying £8 for half a cider. And he had the rest of her change in his hand. Very dodgy!

Excellent bar made cocktails, and happy he 3−8pm bogof– great quality, quirky glasses. great venue. 3 floors. Outdoor waitress service on the lawned area! I think this place is going to become a regular.
