I have been working at Palace Barbers for over eight years and I recently took it over. It is a great place to work and the shop is situated in a really nice environment within Afflecks Palace on the 2nd floor. No appointment necessary, simply call in when you fancy a haircut. I have 15 years experience in ladies and gents hair dressing as well as traditional barbering.

To me, this is exactly the sort of way barbershops should run: simple, cheap, and effective. You don’t need an appointment, you don’t need to wait long, and you don’t even have to know what it is you want. The guy here will helpfully guide you through what would probably work, and you can mumble in agreement and then sit silently avoiding eye-​contact for twenty minutes. Or maybe that’s just me.
It’s cheaper than most other places around, although the Union hairdresser is still the better option in my book. If, however, you are sporting an untamed, unruly barnet and are in the area, or (please God) a portal opened beneath the Union and sucked it into the fiery depths of the earth, then you should probably visit.

This place is great for all you lads out there who cant be bothered to decide when your free and turn up at that time. If you don’t like being held to a decision palace barbers is for you.
The added benefit here is that a saturday afternoon may start innocently but then turn into a day/​night long boozer, in this situation you can take a fifteen minute break, toddle on down to palace and come back looking like you spent the whole afternoon getting ready. Looking sharp!

Palace Barbers is that rare thing in Manchester central these days– a barbers/​hairdressers where no appointment is necessary. That’s right, you can just waltz in off the street like some kind of crazy, cheeky bastard and demand that something is done with your hair immediately!
Hair products and extensions are also on sale here at very reasonable prices compared to most other places.
