Description

Specialties

Simple delivers the best you’d expect to find in a local NYC neighbourhood bar, in the heart of sunny Manchester. From homemade Northern Quarter Pounders, huge racks of sticky BBQ ribs, mountains of mash and mouth-watering homemade cheesecake with a different topping every day — its that simple.

History

Established in 2001.

On a cold, wet and rainy afternoon back in January 2001, we happened to stumble across a bar called Pimlico in the Northern Quarter. The bar had been shut for several months and been in a pretty bad state. It was June 2001 when we finally opened the doors to what is now known as Simple.

Simple was opened by Michael Huckerby, Vikki Harris and Carl Taylor. The bar has seen many things over the years including its fourth birthday party, where Shaun Wright Phillips contributed over £2,000 helping us break the £7,000 mark for our charity auction.

Simple was the first bar in the Northern Quarter to focus on food, and since we opened an amazing 16 bars have opened in 10 years, making the Northern Quarter the place to eat, drink and socialise.

The 10th Birthday celebrations including an American street fun fair which raised money for all the charities Simple had supported over the years.
