This is one of our favourite places to lunch/​dine en famille. The food is generally of a high standard and the wines represent good value. The hotel is set on the edge of the town with some lovely views at the back, over the garden. The staff is friendly and, generally, efficient. I haven’t stayed in the hotel, but if the restaurant standard is replicated there, it is unlikely that anyone will be disappointed. Dinner and wine costs about £25−30 pp.

Great private hotel and restaurant with a perfect setting overlooking the town. The staff are friendly and accomodating, it is more like being in a large family home than a stereotypical hotel.
The rooms are big, comfortable and clean.
The restaurant food is good and the atmosphere is warm and socialable and reasonably priced.
They even make their own honey which you can buy, and it tastes great.

Superb non chain hotel. I have used this for business & also with the family. On all occasions the facilities & staff have been excellent, the food has been great & the pricetag great value for money.
Great location for exploring the area, easy off street parking & lovely gardens.
PS — watch out for the unbelievably cute little dogs!
