not the most trendiest pub in middlesbrough, in need of a major refurbishment, toilets are quite filthy, the drinks are quite reasnobly priced, staff though made the place not to bad as they are easygoing.

This is a rather grubby looking pub from the outside and also in.
Because it is a local it is usually filled with local drinkers and because of this isn’t the friendlist of places to drink. The bar prices are good though with a small selection of drinks on offer. There is a juke box and pool table but the whole vibe of the place just smacked old and is inneed of a bit of a face lift.
It isn’t dirty however, the place always seems to be clean and the womens toliets were hygenic enough.

A traditional, town centre pub. The décor isn’t the greatest, the seats aren’t the most comfortable and the menu isn’t the most extensive, but you get exactly what you expect from the look of the building and it isn’t too expensive (either for food or for drinks).
The staff members are always friendly and polite and normally the wait for food isn’t too long, meaning that you can go on your break from work and have time to eat and get back.
If you are looking for a gastro pub then this isn’t the place for you, but if you are wanting a plate of honest, traditional food then this place is definitely worth a look in.
I can’t tell you what it is like in the evening, as I have only been during the day, but I can’t imagine it being anything other than a normal ‘local’ pub in a town centre.

The Hairy Lemon is located right in the centre of Middlesbrough, I have always noticed the bar and though it to be a bit peculiar due to its name. I started working in close proximity of the bar so I and a friend quite often went over there for our lunch. The menu was typical of a small bar offering various burgers, pasta and a few traditional dishes. The reason we went her was due to the speed of the service. The food and drinks always came relatively quick, there was normally not a great deal of people there but many of those who were out to lunch were doing so from work. The décor to be honest is a bit out dated and is very dark and dingy. Being in such a prime location this facility could offer a lot more if it was revamped. In saying that I have gone here for a few drinks on an evening and business seems to be quite steady anyway. It is reasonably priced and has a juke box so the music is selected by the people. Staff was always friendly and polite and willing to talk.
