Jack Daniels Public House

Over the past 2 or so years, Jack Daniel’s has somehow transformed into a cool and young pub, rather than the old man’s pub it used to be.
You get a lot of football traffic here, and apparently it’s where the local rugby lads drink, which will do me fine!
It’s a big bar with loads of seating and an outdoor smoking patio. The girls and boys have recently swapped loos so we get the big ones with multiple mirrors which was a good move. There are always loads of young ones in here, I would say around the ages of 18 – 21, so even I felt a bit old! You do get the regulars coming loyally every evening, refusing to give into the younger crowd! Good for them!
The bar does vodka slushes which are absolutely lethal. Two of them and it’s game over. They also do little bottles of shots, which is quite unusual. The bar staff are mostly young and female, and friendly enough.
You can also hire out the bigger hall, which doubles as a snooker hall on quieter nights. It’s a big venue, holding at least 200 – 250. They also provide catering if you need it, and I have heard it’s pretty top notch.
A good place to come before a big night out, if the slushes don’t send you packing early!
