My family and I had the «quick lunch» menu at the Cherry Tree yesterday. The food was nice although the starters could have been bigger. We waited over 20 minutes for our desserts to be served, and we were the only party in the restaurant by this time.
There is no drinks menu (only a wine list) so order drinks at your peril, £3 for a large bottle of water!
I object to the 10% service charge that was added to my bill. Remember, this is discretionary, you don’t have to pay it so make them rework your bill and leave a tip instead! At least this way the waitress may see some of the money.

My family and I visited The Cherry Tree on Saturday 15th May 2010 to celebrate my brothers 21st birthday.
The atmosphere was very welcoming, the service was brilliant and the food was excellent.
There was even a pianist playing lounge bacnground music while you were eating — he was also excellent and I appreciated the back-​catalogue of Elton John!
Would definitely visit again.
