Let’s be honest, you wouldn’t expect Northampton to host a quality gourmet Chinese restaurant which serves a wide variety of dishes beyond the standard simple fare that everyone expects. But this place does. A wee bit pricey but you do get what you pay for!

We discovered this place shortly after it opened and return as often as we can. The food is so different from the usual run of the mill Chinese restaurants and every dish is a wonder. The crispy duck is to die for and I have never had a bad dish there. My vegetarian partner has plenty to choose from but always includes the braised tofu in her selection as it is irresistable! Can’t recommend it enough.

Once again a first class meal, with first class service. Felix Yu must be one of Northampton’s and indeed the Midlands best kept secrets. Why this restaurant is not packed every night is beyond me, as it serves the best Chinese/​Cantonese creative dishes I have come across for many years. What a shame if they do not get the support to ride out the recession. Best value are the set price menus which offer a first class selection on startes, middle and main courses.

What a fantastic restaurant Felix Yu is, a real treasure in Northampton. I’ve just had the best chinese meal ever, it was soooo good. When we arrived the restaurant sadly was nearly empty But once you taste the amazing food you’ll see that is a comment on the economy and not the gastronomy. What makes the difference, real taste and quality ingredients. We had the set fish special complete with scallops (so tender), Lobster and Sea Bass. I especially liked the Sword fish starter and the squid in chilli it’s to die for!
This is a meal not for the faint hearted, the meal for two would have fed three. The service was also excellent, pleasant and discrete with friendly smiles and twinkling eyes. I’ll be going back, again and again.

A revolutionary contemporary chinese restaurant like no other. Fantastic range of set menus compliments by its a-​la-​carte menu, theres so much to choose from, you’ll want to try everything out! Theres even a vegetarian set meal! From its crispy mixed hor d’oeurve starters that come out on a round dish, to its crispy aromatic duck thats msg free, followed by the sizzling dishes for the main course, you definately won’t be left feeling hungry by the end of the night. With the constant flow of Tsingtao, this is definately a treat for all.
